New Year usually goes off with a bang in La Rosière, with a fireworks-and-DJ finale following the spectacular ski instructors’ torchlight descent.

Places like Le Petit Danois provide the venue for you to bring the dance moves and party on ‘til five am.

If you like the sound of a hotel, it’s more than likely there will be some New Year festivities going on. And if you’re planning on staying in an apartment and you rather like the sound of throwing your own New Year’s party amongst friends and family, well, why not?

Rise in the morning for a champion of breakfasts provided by your hotel or chalet host, fuelling you up before you head outside and embrace the new year.

Try something different on a New Year’s day spent walking through the newly fallen snow with snow shoes underfoot. Take in the stunning views of Mont Blanc from the San Bernardo’s forests, as you feast on a delicious Savoyard dinner. If you’re still keen for some New Year’s day skiing (and we don’t blame you!) then plenty of snow and quieter slopes can be expected. Take advantage of the calm to try out the resort’s snow cross, boarder cross and, of course, the snowpark’s big air.
