Known as ‘the Island of the sun’, Alpe d’Huez is ideal if you're planning a sunny Easter ski holiday and that all-important "goggle tan".
Granted, this isn’t the best resort for Easter snow – but that's not the point here! With a gloriously sun-drenched and mainly south-facing ski area, you can ski early in T-shirts until the snow gets too soft, then head to the nearest après ski bar for an afternoon of sunbathing. Alpe’dHuez does have a glacier as well as high altitude slopes (the ski area goes up to 3,330m) which means that a good number of lifts are usually open until the end of April - find the best Easter skiing on the shady slopes over in Vaujany / Montfrais.
To celebrate, Alpe d’Huez has an Easter egg hunt around the resort and there are plenty of activities to do (besides soaking up the Easter sun from one of its lovely sun terraces) including ice skating and paragliding. There’s also an open air swimming pool right in the middle of the resort that’s well worth visiting on a sunny afternoon.
We have a great range of ski chalets, hotels and apartments in Alpe d’Huez for all group sizes and budgets. Select your preferred airport below and see what deals suit you for a sunny Easter ski holiday.
