Panorama Easter holidays

Thanks to a top altitude of 2380m, slopes with northerly orientation, good accumulations of snow (around 500cm/season) and the strong likelihood of further falls right through to the end of the season, Easter is a brilliant time to go skiing in Panorama.

The village is intimate and split into upper and lower sections with the two being linked by a gondola. Access to the huge hot spring pools is available to everyone staying at the resort (the views from them are amazing in the spring sunshine). In past years, the resort has put on special events for Easter, which has included Easter egg hunt, carnivals and egg painting.

If you’re taking the kids away during the holidays, Panorama has all the necessary family-friendly facilities on the slopes and off. The Panorama Snow School is reputedly one of the best in Canada and the learner slope has a child-friendly magic carpet, right next to the accommodation in the upper village. There are 24 beginner friendly green and blue runs as well as two terrain parks including the new Rockstar park for older children. You’ll find plenty of non-skiing activities too, such as tobogganing, snowmobile adventures, snowshoeing and ice fishing. The tourist office should have a list of local babysitters and there’s a fully licensed childcare centre, the Wee Wascals, if you want to go out and explore the trickier terrain or fancy a few drinks in the evening.

Panorama is by no means restricted to those with families – groups, couples and solo travellers can have a great time here too. The nightlife is fairly laid back, making it suitable for those who want to have a bit of après fun and still be able to hit the slopes in the morning. The Jackpine pub in the lower village usually has a daily happy hour whilst the T-bar, next to the lifts in the upper village is an après favourite. On the summit, you can enjoy a glass of wine at the Mile 1 Hut or treat yourself to a cheese fondue at the Summit Hut before skiing back down with a guide.
