Awesome views of the Rockies, miles of snow sure skiing and some of our favourite chocolate shops in the world make Banff a top place to stay at Easter time.

At a time of year when snow is melting away elsewhere, it’s usually in plentiful supply on the Rockies of Banff National Park. Sunshine Village has the longest ski season in North America (possibly of anywhere in the world) and is known to be blessed with powder days as late as the beginning of May, meaning the slopes should be in good shape at Easter. Colder mid-winter conditions in Canada might a bit much for little ones to handle, so a milder spring jaunt to the slopes is just perfect for families.

Easter egg hunts and other festivities are often on the calendar - ask the locals about the Lake Louise Slush Cup Competition (if you’re in the area at the right time, it’s a must see). For those heading out to to the snow on Easter Sunday, see if they’re still doing the Easter brunch at Mt Norquay’s Kika’s Cafe. Look out for meal deals in the restaurants in town or treat yourself to a slap-up lunch at the Fairmont. Don’t fill yourself up too much though… with shops like Banff Sweet Shoppe and The Fudgery around it’s always worth leaving room for some chocolate goodies.
