Overview: chalet description: Chalet Lusitano description

The Lusitano is a superb chalet-style apartment in a brand new interior designed Savoyarde style building right in the heart of Val d'Isere.

Situated on the first floor, it has fantastic accommodation for up to 6/8 guests in four bedrooms, 3 of which have ensuites and the 4th (small internal twin) has private facilities just outside the bedroom. The wonderful open-plan kitchen/living/dining room has an open fireplace and doors leading to a balcony with great views on which to enjoy another glass of wine after a bit of apres-ski at the famous Folie Douce or the more recently popular Cocorico Bar! Or perhaps for those who prefer a more sedate way of life, a large slice of freshly-baked cake before a relaxing session in the private sauna.

The Lusitano is in the same building as our Chalets Marwari, Nokota and Pinto apartments, meaning larger groups of friends or families can enjoy all the benefits a larger building can offer whilst retaining privacy in their own surroundings. Being located in a private, but peaceful, development just off the main high street, access to the many bars, restaurants and shops is instant and the main Solaise and Bellevarde ski lifts are just a short walk away. You will be warmly welcomed to The Lusitano by one of our friendly chalet hosts who lives out.

Did You Know... The Lusitano horse is named for Lusitana, a name the Roman's gave to the land that is Portugal. The Lusitano breed is one of the oldest breeds of horse!

Meals: Chalet Lusitano food & drink

We offer our properties on a flexible catering basis therefore providing our guests with as much choice as possible when choosing a fully-catered, part-catered or self-catered chalet or apartment. Your preferences will be discussed at the time of booking and a tailor-made itinerary will be costed based on your requirements.

Our chalet hosts all enjoy cooking and take pride in what they serve and whilst they are not necessarily qualified chefs, they have good experience of dinner party cooking and many of them will have attended one of the well-regarded cookery schools with whom we work closely to ensure the highest calibre of staff possible.

If choosing the fully catered or part catered option, you will be assured of good home-cooked food prepared and served by our specially selected chalet hosts. We do not offer luxury items or haute cuisine, we serve good wholesome hearty food fit for anyone after a hard day on the slopes. Menus will be varied and may include local dishes as well as the more traditional UK favourites such as roasts, lasagne or casseroles.

Our menus have been formed over many years taking into account previous guests’ likes and recommendations and whilst we believe this plan to offer excellent variety, there will be the odd occasion when a dish might not be well-received. We would ask you therefore that if you have any specific dietary requirements or a yearning for dishes in particular, you enquire before booking your holiday and provide us with as much notice as possible regarding specific diets such as vegetarian, vegan, celiac or non-dairy etc.

We update Chalet Lusitano's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...
