Overview: hotel description: The Lodge at Vail description

The Lodge was the first hotel in the village of Vail and continues to maintain its heritage, oozing charm and tradition. Guests can expect exemplary service in an alpine setting with some fantastic facilities.

Once off the slopes, guests can enjoy the 3500 sq ft fitness centre with saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools and an outdoor heated pool as well as a 7500sq ft spa offering a magnificent range of treatments in its superb selection of treatment rooms, including a couple’s treatment room with fireside soaking tubs.

The Lodge has also earned a reputation as a leader in fine dining, offering fresh food, creative chefs and impeccable service. Cucina Rustica offers a complimentary, traditional skiers breakfast whilst Elway’s restaurant offers an award winning menu and an outstanding wine selection at dinner. There is also Mickeys Piano Bar that serves up a great atmosphere and delicious drinks at après ski and in the evening.

Whilst not as contemporary as many of the 5 star and newer hotels in the Village, for many loyal Vail visitors, a stay at the Lodge is synonymous with any stay in Vail as it offers a charming and traditional Vail experience.

It may not have the rich, mining history of other resorts in Colorado like Breck and Aspen, but still manages to wow guests who stay and is quickly catching up with Aspen as the choice ski destination of the rich and famous. Named after Charlie Vail who built the highway through the valley, it features three village centres at the base of the mountain. The first and main base is Vail village. This pedestriani...

Three areas connected by lifts make up this massive expanse – the Frontside, Back Bowls and Blue Sky Basin. With 31 lifts uploading 59,000 people an hour, you should experience quick access with few lift queues outside of peak times. For beginners, the ski school is world class - priding themselves on not ...

If it’s great weather, check out Garfinkel’s for a vast patio on which you can soak in the rays, along with their extensive drinks menu. Los Amigos also plays host to great views, and has in the past had some great happy hour deals to keep patrons returning for more. If you’re over in Lionshead, the well-established Bart and Yeti’s is perfectly situated fo...
