Overview: apartment description: Skyfall Penthouse description

Perched at 1800m in the heart of the majestic Alberg sits the one of a kind Skyfall penthouse

*There is a two week minimum stay over the New Year period*

This exquisite penthouse apartment is the cherry on top of a recently completed chalet that stands out as the first building to be built in the exclusive hamlet of St. Christoph in the last 50 years.

Above and beyond this feat, Skyfall penthouse is a truly outstanding home that fuses, with grace, new and old-world design, embraces texture and pattern, and delights in its attention to detail with bespoke furnishings and finishings throughout.

Set over two floors, Skyfall Penthouse is a true ski-in property, in fact, the unique design of the building means that it is literally set into the mountainside ensuring that returning skiers simply step inside off the slope. Alternatively, the penthouse is accessed by a lift from the ground floor bringing you directly into the apartment and to the same point as when you ski into the property.

The entrance area introduces you to the apartment’s continuous theme of rustic charm juxtaposed with contemporary flair. The walls are clad in a visually-stunning and unique design of wooden bricks. To your left is the ski and boot room where century-old re-purposed wood paneling and punchy art and furnishings make a statement. There is also a guest WC here. Beyond the boot room is a single staff bedroom with en-suite shower room. A short passageway leads into the living area or enter the kitchen to the right of the entrance.

The well-equipped kitchen is bright and tastefully completed with dark marble counter-tops and engaging contemporary artworks which adorn one wall. It leads into the dining area and there is the option for these two rooms to be divided by a glass-panelled sliding door, increasing guests’ privacy. The dining table seats ten around a gorgeous solid wood table.

Enter the living room through one of two doorways leading off the dining room. This simply gorgeous room draws guests in with its large open fireplace and offers ample seating in a large L-shaped sofa or one of two elegant arm chairs. The daylight pours into this room through the many windows, affording spectacular mountain views. Curtains drawn at night transform it into a sumptuous and cosy room in which to enjoy a glass of champagne and relive the day’s adventures.

A cinema with a large screen and Apple technology completes the lower floor.

A staircase at the entrance area leads to the sleeping quarters upstairs as well as the Hamman and sauna. The Hamman is a bold design of emerald green mosaic tiles and the sauna is greatly enhanced by the windows providing rejuvenating light and discrete views onto the pistes.

The penthouse’s four bedrooms are thoughtfully located at each corner of this floor each affording views that mean no guest is disadvantaged. They are accessed by a corridor which forms an open quadrangle that looks down to the living area below. The first bedroom is a charming double bunk room with en-suite shower room, ideal for children. Next is the beautiful master bedroom which has a fixed king-sized bed and an en-suite bath and shower room with a roll-top bath and a rain shower and double sinks. The bedroom is adorned with photographs and memorabilia from Mount Everest. The third bedroom has a fixed king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom with Antarctica being the chosen theme destination for this room. The fourth bedroom is a fixed twin room with en-suite bathroom and windows looking down to the ski hill. All rooms have built-in cupboards.

The property is available on a catered and self-catered basis.

This accommodation only holiday to Skyfall Penthouse in St Christoph, Austria departs Sunday 31st March 2024, for a 7 night stay on a "self catering" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. Off-piste bowls and chutes galore Quaint Austrian Charm 250km ski area

This traditional and cosy village wouldn’t look out of place in a fairytale but offers much more. The fact that it’s part of the huge Arlberg Ski area, and sits between Zurs and St. Anton on the legendary Arlberg pass is a huge draw, offering the opportunity to ski some world-class pistes from a quaint alpine base.

Part of the Arlberg ski area, St Christoph sits on the Arlberg pass – down the road from Zurs and on the other side of the Galzig mountain from the epic St. Anton and its world-renowned après-ski. With a convenient position between the two, this is a brilliant place if you want to explore the Arlberg area at both ends. It made its name when, in the 14th century, Heinrich Findelkind raised money for a hospice to shelter travellers from harsh conditions. With Innsbruck airport only 100km away, you won’t ne...
Getting lessons is the best way to learn and develop your confidence here. Several independent instructors offer fantastic tuition and Ski Schule Arlberg have offices in St. Christoph - their children’s area has a playground, magic carpets and a drag lift where little ones can get to know their skis. The nursery pistes in nearby Rendl are gentle and tend to be quite quiet. There are nice short blues in the village labelled 8A and served by the Maiensee lift. Once you’ve mastered these, Blue 8 leads all the w...
Considering its size it’s not surprising that St. Christoph isn’t a party capital - with a few high end bars, the village has a very intimate vibe. However, St. Anton’s legendary après ski is nearby if you want to turn things up a little. Most of any après-ski in St. Christoph revolves around the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel. It has a number of restaurants including the Sun Terrace, Tyrolean Restaurant and the Hospiz Alm Chalet. This really is fine dining – the Hospiz Alm has been awarded two toques – a presti...
