Unlike flying, you'll not have to worry about excess baggage and ski carriage costs, because you don't pay to take your skis on the train and you don't have to stay within a weight limit for your bag.
We all want to avoid our carbon footprint melting the ancient glaciers of the alps, and the train is a massively less carbon-intensive way to travel than flying. This greening of your holiday is compounded because your electric train is travelling through France, which has the highest percentage of nuclear power in the world. All things electric there are very low carbon.
The biggest news for 2024 ski holidays is the huge increase in how many ski resorts can be accessed by the Ski Train, with transfers to all the big French favourites like Val d'lsere, Meribel, Tignes and Val Thorens, plus Austrian and Swiss big-hitters like St Anton and St Moritz.

Ski train holidays FAQ:
Ski Train tickets go on sale in mid-July before the ski season kicks off.
Eurostar’s Ski Train runs directly from London St Pancras and Ashford (Kent) to Moutiers, Aime and Bourg St Maurice in France every Saturday from late December to early April. Usually, during February half term, Eurostar runs an additional service for Sunday-Sunday holidays. Moutiers, Aime and Bourg St Maurice have a wide range of connections with some of the most popular resorts in the Alps, such as Les Arcs, Val d’Isere, Tignes, the Three Valleys, among more.
The overnight service starting from St Pancras takes around 7-8 hours to get to the Alps and then a short transfer to a whole host of brilliant resorts.
