Escape to the peace and quiet of Ruka village, a snowy haven where you can relax in the warmth of your cosy log cabin.The traditional cabins are fitted with everything you’ll need during your holiday, so think of it as a snowy home away from home. And the modern kitchens have all the facilities you’ll need to whip up a hearty meal for your group after a hard day’s skiing.

In the evenings, make the most of your private sauna or settle down in front of the wood-burning fire.

Please note: The RukaKo cabins are located throughout the resort of Ruka, and are not displayed on the map below. If you book more than one cabin, it's not guaranteed that they'll be close to each other.

Room Types: RukaKo Log Cabins bedrooms

All cabins are non-smoking and come with a full kitchen, coffee making facilities, log burning fire, lounge with dining area and bathroom with WC, shower and private sauna. Bed linen and cleaning is included.

1 bedroom cabin (Monokolo) - sleeps 2-5 (max 4 adults or 4 adults and 1 child up to 11 years) : double bedroom, loft with three mattresses.

2 bedroom cabin (Rukastep 1, 3 & 4)- sleeps 2-6 : double bedroom, twin bedroom, loft with an extra bed.

2 bedroom cabin (Jorokolli) - sleeps 2-6 (max 4 adults or 4 adults and 2 children up to 11 years): double bedroom, loft with twin beds and two mattresses.

Please note : Loft areas will have limited headroom and beds may not be made on arrival.

Nestled in the Finnish hills on the borders of Lapland, just south of the Arctic Circle, a visit here is a once-in-a-lifetime experience (and many return again and again). Sometimes called the ‘gateway to Lapland’, the resort was founded in the winter of 1954 when the first slope opened. Since then it’s flourished there are now 35 groomed runs and over 500km of cross country trails. Most packages have flights that go via Helsinki and land at Kuusamo Airport. Whilst larger resorts can be a bit overwhelming, the compact, unintimidating ski area here is just right for first-timers. Many of the lifts are beginner-friendly t-bars and Ruka also boasts the largest and oldest ski school in Finland. 41% of the runs are suitable for beginners – including the longest at 1.3km (blue 27 on the piste map).
