Situated on the banks of the river, the stylish Q Resort is just a 10 minutes’ walk to Kitzbuhel’s historic centre with a range of cafés, restaurants and designer shops. For getting onto the slopes, it’s a 10-minute walk to the Kitzbüheler Hornbahn gondola or hop on the handy ski bus from just outside the hotel and you’ll be there in no time. And if you're heading over to the Hahnenkamm gondola and the ski school meeting point, book a space on the hotel's free shuttle service, which operated from 20 Dec-29 Mar.

The hotel’s modern Austrian décor combined with traditional alpine touches like wood panelling and cosy open fires are the ideal retreat for a ski break to Kitzbuhel. Head down to the large bar and homely lounge for a cold beverage or a warming hot chocolate after a day on the slopes. Or relax in the large wellness area where there are the two saunas, a steam room and whirlpool. And you can pamper yourself with one of the massages or beauty treatments available. There’s also a fitness room with a range of cardio and weight-based equipment if you’ve still got energy to burn.

The bright and comfortable bedrooms are a good size and are decorated in a contemporary style. Choose from a range of rooms varying in size from 14m-24m2. They all have a TV, music docks, bathrobes and slippers. And when it comes to mealtimes, both the breakfast and evening meals are served in the elegantly simply dining room with its wooden lodge-style décor. The top-quality breakfast buffet is extensive with ample of hot and cold dishes. And there’s even show cooking of eggs and omelettes. Evening meals are a sophisticated affair – entrees, soups and a choice of main dishes are waiter-served alongside salad and dessert buffets.

Austrian twin beds
Austrian twin beds are very common in Central Europe. They’re simply one large bed frame containing two single mattresses, both with separate duvets and linen sets, that cannot be separated. Separate twin beds are less common and can often be head to head beds, rather than side by side, if they are available.

Kitzbuhel will leave both intermediate and advanced skiers and boarders very happy and doesn't disappoint beginners either. You can even night ski on the Gaisberg (piste 41).
