Off the main road that leads to the village of Vršič is the pretty little Hotel Livada. It’s a very traditional property, owned by the young and helpful Novak family, and is only minutes away from both the ski slopes and centre of Kranjska Gora.
If you’re looking for luxury, then you’re probably better looking elsewhere, but if you’re partial to authenticity, genuine service and amazing views, then the Livada is the place for you. You’ll be dropped off outside a very Austrian looking mountain chalet, with flower baskets on the balconies and dark-wood cladding – a truly alpine exterior. Inside, the rooms are simply furnished and come with huge beds and a flat-screen TV.
Breakfast each morning is something to look forward to – there’s something to cater to every taste and is extremely satisfying, especially before an intense morning workout on the slopes. You’ll eat your first meal of the day in the very traditionally styled dining room, that’ll be prepared with a buffet selection of hot and cold dishes – all prepared by hand - by the time you're dressed and down the stairs.
Ales and Ingrid, the owners, are also always around to provide any suggestions for places to eat, or help with bus timetables and directions - little things that'll make your holiday that little bit easier. And with several language spoken to a high standard amongst the owners and their staff, all guests at the Livada will truly feel right at home.

•Family fun •Easy Skiing •Beautiful scenery
Endearing architecture joins beautiful lakes, Limestone Mountains and far-ranging rivers here near the meeting of the Italian, Austrian and Slovenian Alps, but Kransjka’s much more than a pretty face. You’ll also find a world championship slalom and one of the world’s first ski jumps to pit yourself against, while terrific tuition and forgiving slopes make this a solid choice for a first time trip with the brood.
