The slightly elevated Panoramahotel Pawlik sits proudly above the Gastein Valley, watching over the visitors that occupy the ski resort of Bad Gastein. This simple, clean and welcoming hotel is traditionally Austrian in design and offers fabulous views from every bedroom, as well as its restaurant.
The rooms in the Pawlik are cosy and serene. They're not the biggest or the most elegant rooms you'll find, but for a 3* hotel, they definitely do the job. What's more, you'll be able to watch the sun rise over the valley from your bed - pretty special, right?
And you'll be glad to hear that the slopes are easily accessible, too. For those dreading carrying their equipment, the Pawlik runs a free daily shuttle bus to the Stubnerkogelbahn. However, if you'd rather explore the area on foot, the Gaukogel lift is only a 3-minute walk away. And when you decide to head into Bad Gastein itself, you'll be treated to a nice, leisurely walk into resort.
During a stay at the Pawlik, you'll wake up to filling buffet breakfasts, recover with tasty evening meals, warm up on après soups and quench your thirst with free soft drinks throughout the day. The hotel isn't jam-packed with evening entertainment, but if you're feeling all achy, you can unwind in the sauna, or let your hair down with a few drinks in the bar. The free WiFi also means you can scroll, post and share to your heart's content.
So, for a cheap and cheerful stay in the Gastein Valley with fabulous views, wonderful service and close proximity to the mountain, the Panoramahotel Pawlik is pretty high up on the list.
