Families: Mountain Lake Resort for children

Mountain Lake Resort Zell am See is a popular hotel for families with the ski slopes right on the doorstep. Childcare at the hotel is available for children from age 3 to 12 years and is pre-bookable prior to departure.
The hotel crèche is colourful, fun and fully equipped with all the latest toys and books. Every evening we offer a drop in crèche facility which runs from 7:30 - 11.00pm allowing parents to relax over dinner whilst the children enjoy quiet time supervised by our nannies with a dvd and a story. Babysitting is available at an extra charge but subject to availability
We work very closely with Zell Ski School, who are happy to teach children from 4 years upwards. Children that are booked into the childrens clubs will be dropped off and collected from ski school by our childcare staff and from there bought back to the hotel where we provide lunch and afternoon activities (or return to ski school) all supervised.
For children that are not skiing and are booked into the childrens clubs then a mountain of fun and games both indoor and outdoor awaits daily.

With its gorgeous lakeside location and buildings harking back to the Middle Ages, Zell am See brilliantly balances traditional charm with modern efficiency. The town is easily accessible from anywhere in Europe - it's only an hour from Salzburg by train which takes you to the station right in Zell's centre. The drive is only half an hour longer, making it perfect for last-minute breaks and long weekends. With chic hotels and boutique-lined promenades, the pedestrianised town centre is incredibly family-frien...
Skiing the Schmitten mountain above the town puts you on some of the most scenic pistes in the world, with stonking sights of the lake and Salzburg peaks. Three-quarters of the slopes suit beginners and intermediates, and there’s more easy cruising on Kaprun’s Maiskogel mountain (a bus ride away). Schmitten doesn’t forget experts, with endurance testers and adrenaline spikers thrown in - the long, black Trassabfahrt is said to be one of the most challenging in the country. Besides panoramas and peaks, the ...
With plenty of opportunity for a quick bite or drink on the mountain, the après ski gets going long before the last skiers leave the slopes. The Pinzgauer Hut is a hidden gem on the mountain, serving delicious local fare and offers a complimentary snowmobile service to return you to town. At the top of the Schmittenhohe, you can dance the afternoon away at the Schnaps-Hans bar, before making your way down to the town to carry on the party. The Cabrio is often the next port of call, where you can watch the fo...

We had a very nice week, the Mountain Lake Resort has a really nice set up and location. The whole place is brand new so it was all very clean. The food was really good and staff were fantastic. The rooms were great: I really enjoyed having a TV and it was useful to have kitchen facilities. Getting into the town for the pubs etc. was a 1-2 minute walk and we could reach the slopes in 4-5 minutes. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The apartments were really good: spacious, clean and very modern, with a fridge and cooker if you wanted to use them. The best bit was the food and service downstairs. The young staff were keen to look after everyone and did their jobs well, and it was nice having tea and cake when we came back in the afternoon. I’d say this was better than a hotel in that it’s smaller in size. I couldn’t fault the location, you’re literally a few minutes from the centre, the bus stop to Kaprun and the lift to Zell. There’s a locker room, and the only thing about that was that it was a bit small, with no seating – though you’re only in and out of it twice a day anyway.
