Overview: hotel description: Hotel Tango description

The Hotel Tango is a fun place to stay right in the centre of the resort, with its popular bar and indulgent spa. And best of all, you’ll have ski-in, ski-out access to the highest resort in Europe.

There’s a quirky edge to the décor here – especially in the rooms, which are done up in deep blues and reds, and have wallpaper patterned with tartan or snowy trees. Most of them have a balcony too, so you can look out over real winter scenery.

Pop back to the hotel at lunchtime to fuel up in the Alpine Kitchen restaurant – the Tango burger's always a top choice – or take part in the twice weekly barbecue. Then in the afternoons, the bar and terrace ups the ante with live music, so grab a cocktail and dance to the beat. If you prefer things more low-key, head to the lounge to unwind by the fire, or make the most of the sauna and hammam in the spa instead.

The Hotel Tango was fantastic. Amazing food - They did a good mix of local French cuisine and it was all very balanced for children and for adults. At times the local food was a bit funny for kids, but it wasn’t a big issue. There’s an open fire in the lounge area where everyone mixes and mingles which is where we ended up most evenings rather than going out in Val Thorens. Room & bathroom - We were two people in what was basically a room for four. It was made up of 2 singles and a sofa bed, which we ended up using as a little sitting room area. If I had ended up sharing it with three others I probably would have leapt out the window! It would have been far too small. Linen and cleaning were both very good, and our beds were comfortable. The bathroom was what you’d call a wet room, basically if you had a shower everything got soaked. Great location – it’s ski in, ski out, so in the evenings we took a chairlift which actually went right by the window of our room and then skied down about 500m to the back of the hotel. In the mornings, it was a little traverse out the front on an unofficial slope and then onto the main area. We would go back to that hotel and would recommend it.
