Everything was fine with the hotel and we would go back here. Regarding the meals all was OK. The location wasn’t the best but a bus comes in the morning to pick you up which wasn’t a problem – I think it came every half an hour. + more

Overview: hotel description: Hotel Relais des Alpes description

Set in Sauze’s main piazza, the Relais is just the spot if you want to be in the heart of the action – it’s even got its own après pub, so you can get the drinks in without stepping out of the hotel. And you're handy for the slopes too. Just walk 5 minutes uphill to get to the nearest lift, or save the ski legs and take the free bus that stops outside instead.

Tiled floors, warm wood and shades of red and yellow on the walls give this hotel a traditional Italian look. And with sports memorabilia on the walls, high wooden bar stalls and a pool table, the Queens Lounge has that classic pub feel.

A hot and cold buffet breakfast and 4-course evening meal are included with your stay here. And, if you’re back at the hotel between 5-6pm you can sip an afternoon tea and coffee too. Prefer something more relaxing? You can pay a little extra and visit the spa – with its sauna and hot tub, it’s your ticket to post-ski bliss.

Tree-lined plateaus, wide lengths of varied terrain and beautiful scenery make up the skiing here. Beginners will find the nursery slopes at the foot of the Clotes chair, and the lift takes you to the main ski area at Sportina where lessons also take place. You don't have to conquer the lift process before even having the snow under your skis - regular shuttle buses provide an easy ride for beginners to get out on to the piste. Infamously known as the best resort for après ski in the Italian Alps, there's something for everyone here, from chilled-out cocktail bars to cosy balcony cafés and lively party places. Having disposed of its previous branding as the Ibiza on the slopes, the resort has a much more refined feel, whilst maintaining the dynamic après atmosphere. "Very good hotel, suited to families"

Guy Pilkington, Newcastle upon Tyne
4/ out of 5
We had a lovely holiday. The hotel was comfortable and the rooms were fairly big (we had a 3 bedded room). It’s not particularly modern, but it’s sufficiently well maintained and it’s certainly clean. There was a little bit of noise from the square outside, but it wasn’t intrusive. The catering was good, not amazing but good, and it was plentiful. It tended to be buffet style with plenty of veggie and non-veggie choices. It lent itself well to families. You could keep your ski gear in the ski room downstairs. It was a bit of a trek to get to the gondola, you could either take the bus or go by foot. We took the bus, which was usually packed but we could always get on. Some of the other customers chose to pay for a locker at the lifts, making it an easy 5 minute walk or an easier bus ride without the gear. This was the only significant thing to note about the hotel. The staff were very helpful. There was always someone at reception. At the hotel there were lots of families with children of varying ages, so I would recommend it to families. For this reason it might not be suited to couples, particularly if you didn’t want to have children around. It worked for us, I travelled with my sons (teenage/20 years), and my boys were perfectly happy with the hotel. We went down and watched the football on the TV in the bar, that was nice for them.

"All good"

Everything was fine with the hotel and we would go back here. Regarding the meals all was OK. The location wasn’t the best but a bus comes in the morning to pick you up which wasn’t a problem – I think it came every half an hour.
