Overview: hotel description: Hotel Maiensee description

Meal Basis: Half Board
One of the best kept secrets in the Arlberg, there can be no argument that the 4* Hotel Maiensee in St.Christoph am Arlberg enjoys one of the top locations in the St Anton ski area, in a ski-in, ski-out position which is often more snowsure than St Anton itself, given its altitude of 1800m.

St Christoph is a charming, quiet little village with just a number of hotels and a handful of bars with sun terraces, ideal for perfecting your google tan! It does not boast the same lively atmosphere as St Anton, which is roughly 15-20 minutes away on the ski bus, while the ski area can be accessed directly from the hotel, where there are two lifts and a small beginner area.

The hotel is a warm and friendly family-run establishment, offering enormous charm and abounding in character, particularly in the public areas. There is a beautiful bar and restaurant, which is very cosy and traditional with two open fireplaces. You'll be hosted on a half-board basis which includes a hot and cold buffet breakfast with show cooking. In the evenings you can expect fine Austrian food, wine and attentive service.

There are 45 bedrooms at the hotel, split between two interconnected parts of the building. You'll find standard and superior rooms, the latter offering stunning mountain views. Rooms are comfortable and feature free Wi-Fi, safe, TV, minbar and ensuite bathroom with WC, with Molten Brown products provided.

The hotel has a wonderful spa and wellness areas, with beauty and massage treatments bookable on the spot. You'll find a heated boot room, plus a brand new coffee shop for your espresso hit prior to jumping on the chair lift outside the door.

Part of the Arlberg ski area, St Christoph sits on the Arlberg pass – down the road from Zurs and on the other side of the Galzig mountain from the epic St. Anton and its world-renowned après-ski. With a convenient position between the two, this is a brilliant place if you want to explore the Arlberg area at both ends. It made its name when, in the 14th century, Heinrich Findelkind raised money for a hospice to shelter travellers from harsh conditions. With Innsbruck airport only 100km away, you won’t ne...
Getting lessons is the best way to learn and develop your confidence here. Several independent instructors offer fantastic tuition and Ski Schule Arlberg have offices in St. Christoph - their children’s area has a playground, magic carpets and a drag lift where little ones can get to know their skis. The nursery pistes in nearby Rendl are gentle and tend to be quite quiet. There are nice short blues in the village labelled 8A and served by the Maiensee lift. Once you’ve mastered these, Blue 8 leads all the w...
Considering its size it’s not surprising that St. Christoph isn’t a party capital - with a few high end bars, the village has a very intimate vibe. However, St. Anton’s legendary après ski is nearby if you want to turn things up a little. Most of any après-ski in St. Christoph revolves around the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel. It has a number of restaurants including the Sun Terrace, Tyrolean Restaurant and the Hospiz Alm Chalet. This really is fine dining – the Hospiz Alm has been awarded two toques – a presti...
