Overview: hotel description: Hotel Le Val Thorens description

Meal Basis: Bed & Breakfast
Built in 1983, Le Val Thorens was a pioneer as one of the very first hotels built in Europe's highest ski resort. This visionary hotel still stands apart today in its location (Place Caron, in the very heart of the resort) and its daring architecture, a reference to a mountain village.
Built around a spectacular atrium, its design was deliberately contrary to popular styles of the period; it is intelligently focused on the interior, to better preserve warmth. Today, Le Val Thorens pursues its avant-garde destiny, cultivating its sporting image. It has one of the resort's largest swimming pools (with panoramic views of the valley) and a mountain spa at the foot of the slopes of the world's largest ski area.
The hotel has an arty vibe too as contemporary art can be seen on every floor. Photos, videos, paintings, sculptures...Polke, Vitalli, Wagner, Richman rub shoulders with local artists, all offering a different view of the mountains - always the focal point of the art. In the rooms and lounge areas, vintage furniture and modern pieces are juxtaposed, illustrating this trailblazing spirit.
Your short break in the mountains will be made on a Bed & Breakfast basis. A varied buffet of fresh produce, including hot and cold items is served every morning. In the evenings, modern French meals are served in the hotel's stylish restaurant with terrace. There's also a hip lounge bar and a casual restaurant for local specialties like fondue and mountain fare.
Timeless, spacious, luminous and cosy, all equipped with a pleasant balcony, bedrooms at Le Val Thorens are havens of tranquility and relaxation. Light wood, Scandinavian furniture, harmonious muted tones and the interplay of natural materials, combined with a spectacular and sun-filled view of the slopes or the resort, all add up to make this the ideal place to unwind. The rooms are all designed in a refined chalet style and offer a maximum of comfort. Our Comfort rooms have a bathroom with bathtub, hair dryer, courtesy toiletries, flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi and safe. They all have a balcony with a view on the resort or ski hills (except for three rooms on the ground floor).
Hotel guests have free and exclusive access to the swimming pool, sauna and Turkish baths area from 10am to 7pm. Beauty treatments and massages are available by appointment and open to non-resident clients as well, from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 7.30pm.

2300m at the top of the Three Valleys ski area, VT is the highest ski resort in Europe and part of the biggest linked ski area on the planet. While it's a place for people who, above all else, love to ski, you'll also find some of the country's best après including the legendary Folie Douce, as well as weird and wonderful activities like the 1300m Tyrolienne zip wire. Olde worlde gallic charm it isn't, but skiers will wake up to find some of the best snow in the Alps on their doorstep, and the views over the...
At the summit of the largest ski area in the world and bordering the Vanoise National Park, this is a spectacular place to ski and board. Beginners are well catered for on nursery slopes by the Rond Point des Pistes, where the magic carpets often don't require a lift pass. Kids will love the Junior Park, while the Musaraigne and Campagnols runs in the beginner's area and the new Deux Combes green are perfect to practice on. With a bit more confidence, take the Pionniers or Plein Sud chairs for some cruisy lon...
The après ski here easily rivals other top resorts in the Alps. If you haven't already had the Folie Douce experience, head just under the Plein Sud lift where the "dancefloor on top of the world" is heaving from 3 pm. Another place to party is Bar 360 at the end of the blue Moraine run, which always has live music and cheaper drinks. Back in town, Rue de Gebroulaz is a hub of lively bars where O'Connells is the local Irish pub. The Frog and Roastbeef is a long-time favourite of Brits. L'Eclipse on Galerie Caro...
