Overview - hotel description - Hotel Ibiza description

The Hotel Ibiza brings a fresh atmopshere to Deux Alpes with its eclectic homage to pop culture; a young Madonna and The Rolling Stones are but a few of the famous names embellishing the hotel walls. Keep an eye out for the Monopoly tables in the lounge area which bring a fun edge to the traditional game.

The nearest lift is just 300m away (and the hotel offers a private shuttle bus to and from the lift 9-10.30 am & 4-6pm) and the centre of resort is a 5 minute walk. Relax at the end of the day in the spa with indoor pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and fitness area. Or enjoy a drink on the large sunny terrace with stunning panoramic views of the Parc National des Ecrins.

Après-ski entertainment is provided here and there is a relaxed atmosphere in the bar in the evenings with a DJ playing lounge music.

This package holiday to Hotel Ibiza in Les Deux Alpes, France departs Saturday 16th December 2017, for a 7 night stay on a "half board" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

Glacier Skiing Awesome après Loads to do

Gobsmacking views of Mont Blanc aren’t the only bonus of the glacier - this ‘upside down’ ski resort is one of the most snow sure in the Alps, so much so that you can ski here in the summertime. Much loved for its après ski, the town's main strip is bursting with some of the best bars in the mountains.

Grenoble is the closest airport with a transfer time of just under 2 hours, making the resort really accessible by road. The resort was first used for skiing as early as 1925, when the first ski tow was erected. Unfortunately, this rather Neanderthal piece of equipment fell down a mere 15 minutes after the opening ceremony! The “Les Deux Alpes”, as we know it today, was established in 1946. It is commonly assumed that the name is derived from the two mountains on either side of the town, when in reality the na...
There are plenty of beginner slopes on the front face with runs like les Vikings and Les Gentianes for those learning to ski. The great thing about LDA is that there are some terrific beginner slopes higher up the mountain so new skiers can really experience the benefits of skiing at altitude. The Cretes area at 2100m is the favourite spot for ski schools, with the Ski Escalator a welcome aid to those learning to ski. A top tip for beginners is to either ski the green back to resort early or opt for the gondola ...
You don’t have to look far to find good après in L2A. The best place to start has to be the Panoramique bar, known as Pano bar to the locals. This slopeside restaurant, based at 2,600m really comes alive between 3pm and 5pm every day with a DJ set that will vibrate through your whole body. At the bottom of the piste, Umbrella bar is a great place to keep the party going. If you want to take the night further then Smithy’s is the place to go, with great modern music as well as a few nights of live entertainmen...

"Overall a nice ski hotel"

4/ out of 5
A good hotel, nice and clean with pleasant staff. The food was lovely, though it got a little repetitive towards the end of the week… I know it’s buffet style, but the special hot option each day was raclette on four of the days, then burgers with raclette cheese on the other day. We had pea soup 3 times, a really nice soup but again just repetitive. Breakfasts were good, with a good selection of food. The pool was good, a little chilly but I guess you’re in the Alps. The hot tub was nice too. We didn’t use the sun deck or the gym, but the gym looked fairly well equipped. There’s also a games room which was always occupied by the children so that was obviously good too. It’s located a little out of town, but we weren’t bothered by walking, especially as we’re boarders so it wasn’t a killer to walk. Our rep didn’t tell us that there was a hotel shuttle service which would have been useful to know – we found out on the fourth day when the bus driver recognised us from the hotel and offered a lift!
