As soon as you walk in you'll feel the friendly, family atmosphere at Hotel Des Geneys. The location is great, just a short stroll from the pretty historic centre but in a quiet spot making it easy to relax here after long days of skiing or boarding. In the morning hop on the hotel's free shuttle. It runs at set times and will take you down to Campo Smith where the main lifts are. You'll also be able to use the free resort bus which stops about 200 metres from the hotel, so you'll find yourself well connected.
The decoration throughout is quite traditional with parquet floors, Persian rugs and wood beamed ceilings. The rooms follow in the traditional theme and are cosy and comfortable. There's also a sauna, steam room and whirlpool that you can book and pay for in the hotel.
There's a nice casual bar area where you'll sometimes hear live piano music playing. They do really nice cocktails here too, if you fancy trying something a bit different to your usual. Expect a hearty four course meal for dinner with choices of delicious authentic Piedmont cuisine. We found it hard to stop ourselves filling up on the tasty hors d'oeuvres. You definitely won't go hungry here. They've also got a great wine list and we recommend trying some of the local labels.
Transfer time: approx. 1 hour 30 mins by coach from Turin airport.
