Overview: hotel description: Hotel Arlberg description

NEW Hotel for the 2019/20 season. For our 30thanniversary we thought it was time to go back to the very cradle of downhill skiing, where it all began. We've become fussy with age, so we wanted serious altitude, perhaps a small boutique hotel with say twenty bedrooms, we wanted to wrap ourselves in the very best of luscious Tyrolean décor, we wanted to be on the piste, next to the lifts and …. I guess it would have been nice to be right next to the ski school as well. Nailed it ….

Hotel Arlberg (we dropped the -höhe for ease of pronunciation!), is our new piste side home at the very epicentre of Austria's world class Arlberg ski region. We are next to the St. Christophbahn ski lift whisking you straight to Galzig, at the bottom of Piste 64, or ski route 66 for the more adventurous, adjacent and overlooking the ski school and beginners lifts, and most importantly for the gourmets amongst you, next to the infamous Hospiz Alm for the ultimate Tyrolean lunchtime experience.

We think we've hit the jackpot with this grandad of our property portfolio. Short airport transfer, tick. Ski in – ski out, tick. Seven nights catering, tick. Spacious double rooms and family suites, tick. Kick off your boots on the terrace and cuddle under a blanket to enjoy an après ski drink, tick. Watch your kids ski away to ski school in your dressing gown, tick. Party at the Mooserwirt but back in time for dinner, tick. Sauna to ease away the aches of a hard day skiing, tick. Altitude … tick, tick tick.

Guests will enjoy sole exclusive use of the entire hotel and piste side terrace all day long. Our chef also offers a flexible menu plan with choice of dishes for evening dining. The style is rustic Tyrolean at its very best, the beguiling interior drips authentic alpine charm. The eighteen spacious bedrooms and three suites (built before space commanded such a premium) are spread over three floors, all en-suite and equipped with TV, WiFi, hairdryer, telephone and safe. Most with balcony, providing spectacular views of the ski bowl and surrounding peaks. We have categorised rooms as Silver, Gold (£250 supplement) & Diamond Suites (£500 supplement) which can very comfortably sleep a family of 4 or 5.

Our Executive Chef is passionate about food and hugely sensitive to the appetite of a hungry skier whilst considering a balanced diet. The new and refined menus are heavy enough to reward mountain exertion yet light and simple enough to leave you grinning not groaning.

All our catered ski holidays include;

  • Continental breakfast with a cooked option on 6 mornings
  • Afternoon tea will be left in the chalet for you to help yourself to freshly made cake or biscuits, bread & jams, selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate

  • 3 course evening meal (6 nights) followed by cheese board and coffee
  • A choice of red and white wine is served throughout dinner
We update Hotel Arlberg's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

Off-piste bowls and chutes galore Quaint Austrian Charm 250km ski area

This traditional and cosy village wouldn’t look out of place in a fairytale but offers much more. The fact that it’s part of the huge Arlberg Ski area, and sits between Zurs and St. Anton on the legendary Arlberg pass is a huge draw, offering the opportunity to ski some world-class pistes from a quaint alpine base.

Part of the Arlberg ski area, St Christoph sits on the Arlberg pass – down the road from Zurs and on the other side of the Galzig mountain from the epic St. Anton and its world-renowned après-ski. With a convenient position between the two, this is a brilliant place if you want to explore the Arlberg area at both ends. It made its name when, in the 14th century, Heinrich Findelkind raised money for a hospice to shelter travellers from harsh conditions. With Innsbruck airport only 100km away, you won’t ne...
Getting lessons is the best way to learn and develop your confidence here. Several independent instructors offer fantastic tuition and Ski Schule Arlberg have offices in St. Christoph - their children’s area has a playground, magic carpets and a drag lift where little ones can get to know their skis. The nursery pistes in nearby Rendl are gentle and tend to be quite quiet. There are nice short blues in the village labelled 8A and served by the Maiensee lift. Once you’ve mastered these, Blue 8 leads all the w...
Considering its size it’s not surprising that St. Christoph isn’t a party capital - with a few high end bars, the village has a very intimate vibe. However, St. Anton’s legendary après ski is nearby if you want to turn things up a little. Most of any après-ski in St. Christoph revolves around the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel. It has a number of restaurants including the Sun Terrace, Tyrolean Restaurant and the Hospiz Alm Chalet. This really is fine dining – the Hospiz Alm has been awarded two toques – a presti...
