Overview: hotel description: Hotel Arlberg description

Run by the Ennemoser family for generations, the Arlberg is all about authentic Austrian hospitality, from the warm welcome when you arrive to the attentive service at mealtimes. It ticks the box when it comes to location too – a few minutes’ walk from the Nasserein gondola and the action in the town centre, but far enough away to be quiet in the evenings.

Each day starts with a hearty buffet spread, with plenty of fresh rolls, sliced meats, cheese and cereal to fuel you up for a full day’s skiing. Then in the evening, there are four courses of local dishes to tempt your taste buds, not to mention an impressive wine cellar with over 200 regional and international vintages to choose from.

During your off-slope hours, head to the Albergstube for a laid-back après or visit the spa to recharge in the sauna and steam room. Upstairs, the bedrooms have a simple, traditional feel, with pine panelling and pops of red from the colourscheme.

Brimming with traditional Austrian charm but with all the conveniences of a modern resort, St Anton's vast, high altitude ski area and vibrant atmosphere make it truly world class. It's one of the major international destinations that everyone must visit at least once (and is likely to return to frequently thereafter). Two minutes from the train station and less than an hour's drive from Innsbruck airport, it's a conveniently accessible resort. The main village is traffic free and stretches for about 1km - dot...
It's often said that if you learn to ski or snowboard here, you're likely to find any other resort an utter breeze... Just don't do a Bridget Jones (her memorable descent in 'Edge of Reason' took place on one of the more challenging Arlberg runs) and make sure to take advantage of the excellent tuition on offer. Thanks to local legend Hannes Schneider, St Anton opened the first ski school in 1921. The Skischule Arlberg continues to provide excellent tuition today, so beginners are in good hands. There's a nurs...
The après ski here is absolutely legendary: the atmosphere is constantly buzzing and with a night bus running until 3am, you can really make the most of your evening. You'll find about 20 bars offering a variety of scenes, but to experience après ski at its best you can't leave until you've joined the masses and danced on the tables at world-famous Mooserwirt or The Crazy Kangaroo (Krazy Kanguruh). While it's reputation is lively (and the resort lives up to it) there are lots of options if you prefer a more so...
