Overview: hotel description: Hotel Alpenhof description

From the friendly, down-to-earth atmosphere to the regional recipes dished up at dinnertime, the Alpenhof does traditional Tyrolean hospitality to a tee. And it’s been run by the same family since it was built in the 1960s, so whether you’re wondering what slopes to ski next or want a tip on where to stop for lunch, you’ll have a local on hand to help.

The hotel itself is up the hill towards the edge of the resort, which means you’re away from the hustle and bustle of the bars and clubs when it’s time to turn in. As for hitting the slopes, you've got a free ski bus stop right outside, with regular services to the resort centre, as well as nearby spots like Lech and Zürs.

Austrians love a post-piste sauna session almost as much as the Scandis, and they’re keeping up the tradition here with a well-equipped wellness area where you can unwind at the end of the day – bliss.

Brimming with traditional Austrian charm but with all the conveniences of a modern resort, St Anton's vast, high altitude ski area and vibrant atmosphere make it truly world class. It's one of the major international destinations that everyone must visit at least once (and is likely to return to frequently thereafter). Two minutes from the train station and less than an hour's drive from Innsbruck airport, it's a conveniently accessible resort. The main village is traffic free and stretches for about 1km - dot...
It's often said that if you learn to ski or snowboard here, you're likely to find any other resort an utter breeze... Just don't do a Bridget Jones (her memorable descent in 'Edge of Reason' took place on one of the more challenging Arlberg runs) and make sure to take advantage of the excellent tuition on offer. Thanks to local legend Hannes Schneider, St Anton opened the first ski school in 1921. The Skischule Arlberg continues to provide excellent tuition today, so beginners are in good hands. There's a nurs...
The après ski here is absolutely legendary: the atmosphere is constantly buzzing and with a night bus running until 3am, you can really make the most of your evening. You'll find about 20 bars offering a variety of scenes, but to experience après ski at its best you can't leave until you've joined the masses and danced on the tables at world-famous Mooserwirt or The Crazy Kangaroo (Krazy Kanguruh). While it's reputation is lively (and the resort lives up to it) there are lots of options if you prefer a more so...
