· in the Hovdestaul part of the ski area · 1 minute’s walk to the Fyrieggheisen lift · 1 minute's walk to the Hovdest green slope · ski bus stop outside · 5 minutes’ bus ride to the nursery slopes and ski school meeting point · 5 minutes’ bus ride to the nearest supermarket
Set in the Hovdestaul part of the resort, the Gausta Sportell is just the spot if you want the piste on your doorstep. Step outside and the Fyrieggheisen drag lift is right there – just click in and start slope swooshing. The hire shop, ski school meeting point and nursery area are a 5-minute bus ride away. So, if you’re collecting equipment or a first-timer heading for a lesson, you’ll need to hop on the regular free resort bus that stops outside.
There’s a mix of room types, from doubles to 3-bed apartments, so it’s easy to find your perfect mountain home-from home. Some rooms even look right out onto the piste, so you can watch early birds carve fresh tracks while you sip your morning coffee. The modern bathrooms add an extra touch of class to your stay, with all the comforts you need to hit the slopes ready for action.
Start each day with a hearty breakfast spread of meats, cheeses and hot treats like sausages, omelettes and pancakes – just the thing to set you up for your ski day. When the sun goes down, warm up with a bowl of soup before tucking into two more tasty courses in the hotel's stylish dining space.
Good to know: The Gausta Sportell is in Hovdestaul part of the ski area – a regular free bus service runs from outside the hotel to the centre of the resort. Check the official resort website to see the schedule for this winter.
