Overview: hotel description: Garni Salvan description

The Garni Salvan is located up a steep slope in an elevated location with magnificent views overlooking Selva. The chalet is built in a delightfully traditional alpine style and is only 2 minutes' downhill walk to the Costabella chairlift, which links on to the Sella Ronda. With only 5 minutes' walk taking you into the resort centre, you'll never be far from the shops and supermarkets if you need to grab any supplies.

The rooms are simple, decorated with wooden pine furniture and crisp white linen. Despite being on the minimalist side, the chalet rooms have everything you need to ensure your stay is cosy and comfotable. All rooms also have en-suite facilities and a TV, with free WiFi accessible in all public areas.

The cosy, traditional dining room is the ideal area to socialise and catch up on the day's plans over a hot and cold breakfast spread, setting you up for a busy day on the slopes.

Austrian twin beds
Austrian twin beds are very common in Central Europe. They’re simply one large bed frame containing two single mattresses, both with separate duvets and linen sets, that cannot be separated. Separate twin beds are less common and can often be head to head beds, rather than side by side, if they are available.

Please note: Public areas will be cleaned each morning. Rooms will be cleaned daily. All linen and towels are provided. All bedroom doors are lockable.

Please Note

When you arrive in the resort, the coach isn’t able to take you right up to the entrance of the Garni Salvan, so you’ll be dropped off at the bottom of the driveway. From there, your luggage will be transported for you, and you’ll have a 2-minute walk.

We update Garni Salvan's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

Selva is the best known and highest of Val Gardena’s close-set group of villages, which also include Ortisei and Santa Cristina. Val Gardena is part of the expansive Dolomiti Superski area and topping the list of reasons to visit the Dolomites, or ‘Pale Mountains’, is its status as a UNESCO world heritage site - Selva has some striking views of the Sassolungo massif and Puez mountains on either side. Named “Sëlva” by its Ladin speaking locals (the name apparently comes from the Ladin word for wood) or “...
The nursery slopes are close to town and there’s a nice collection of blues towards one side of Piz Seteur and at Plan de Gralba (it’s worth mastering the bus timetable when going onto Plan de Gralba as taking the mountain route can land a beginner on some rather tricky reds). There are a number of ski school options available as well as a Fun Park for the younger-hearted. Just by looking at the piste map you can see the intermediate-friendly nature of the skiing here. Italian resorts don’t tend to be overly wild when it comes to après ski but with 20 bars, 45 restaurants and 2 main clubs Selva does rather well... If you’ve never had the iconic Bombardino beverage, this is a good place to sample one! Bar Saltos is a good foodie spot with a sometimes themed menu and music scene for later on. La Stua, near the Costabella ski lift, is great for après ski with a sunny terrace and live music. By the Dantercepies, Panorama does some hearty dishes, perfect before the final run...

"really liked our jacuzzi bath room"

Miss Richards, Sutton
5/ out of 5
We very much enjoyed staying here – we had the only room with the jacuzzi bath and loved it (I think you have to pay a bit extra but we booked early so got to choose). The food was fantastic, we had a really good chalet guide who fed us very well with plenty of options. The only downside was that being up the hill, the walk down was fairly steep and treacherous via a zig zag slope (it needed to be gritted and is definitely worth leaving your stuff in a locker in town) however being up there did mean it was quieter.
