This French-born company have seventeen (and counting) resorts scattered around the French Alps, occupying prime positions in some of the world’s biggest and most snow sure ski areas.
In the Three Valleys, there’s a resort in Val Thorens and two in Meribel, while Paradiski has two clubmeds in La Plagne, one in Peisey-Vallandry and another in Les Arcs. Often when you’ve got more than one resort in a ski area, arrangements can be made to ski over to the other resort for lunch, letting you fully explore the region and have a peek at another of the Club Med properties.
The sheer range of properties in France gives oodles of choice. Resorts come with 3 or 4 tridents and exclusive 5 trident areas too (tridents are Club Med’s equivalent to the star rating system – 3T is simpler lodging, while 5T’s uber luxurious). There’s also a choice between family focussed and adult-only resorts, depending on who you’re travelling with. Pick a big-name resort like Val d'Isere if you want to experience masses of skiing and a lively town centre, or opt for somewhere quieter like Valmorel if you’d prefer a more secluded stay. On last count, over a dozen resorts had doorstep skiing, 11 had spas and 9 their own swimming pools.
