Location: where is Chalet Tichot

The Grand Tichot residence is ideally located on the main high street of Tignes Val Claret just behind the Sherpa supermarket. The lifts and pistes are a flat 200m walk

Overview: chalet description: Chalet Tichot description

Our Tichot apartment occupies much of the ground floor of the Grand Tichot building which is located in the heart of Tignes Val Claret , just behind the Sherpa supermarket. Whilst the residence building itself is looking a little tired from the outside, inside communal areas have been renovated and the Tichot apartment has just been refurbished with a modern, comfortable & simplistic style in mind.

Once inside the apartment, space is a plenty and most bedrooms and the living area benefit from views of the Toviere mountain. As a ground floor property at the back of the building balcony doors open onto the terrace giving direct access for those wanting to play in the snow or enjoy some spring sunshine.

Tichot can comfortably sleep 14 guests or even 15 if someone is happy to sleep on a sofa bed in the communal space which is accessed by two other bedrooms. Five bedrooms benefit from en-suite facilities with the sixth bedroom having a private shower room, easily shared with anybody using the communal sleeping area. The rooms are a combination of single, twin, triple and quad making the chalet style apartment ideal for a group of friends or mix of families.

After a hard day on the slopes, the private sauna located inside the apartment will be a welcome retreat.

Although a little different to our usual chalet properties we are pleased to have the Tichot on our programme. The location is perfect with a flat 200m walk to the piste and the accommodation is comfortable and homely.

Espace Killy ski area Fantastic après ski High altitude skiing

Tignes is somewhere you can ski longer, higher and further than most other resorts in the Alps. Owing its snow-reliability to the Grande Motte glacier, the local ski area is joined with Val d’Isere’s to form the mammoth Espace Killy - intermediates will have a whale of a time here. Choose between 5 different villages, whether your priority is convenience, cosiness or cheap accommodation. Tignes also has one of the most famous New Year parties in the Alps.

Tignes ski resort (pronounce it 'Teens') is one half of the stunning Espace Killy, one of the biggest linked ski areas in France. Because of its high-altitude terrain and access to the Grande Motte glacier, the resort is open both earlier and later in the season than many others and often the lifts are running for short periods of summer skiing. Predominantly purpose built, the resort itself is divided into 5 villages, each different in its own way but all well linked by lifts and bus services. The main area...
With varied pistes at a high altitude, the ski area has impressive powdered terrain for skiers and boarders alike. Beginners can practice on the nursery slopes at Le Lac and Le Lavachet, where you'll find gentle, quiet runs that are accessible via free beginners' lifts. Le Bollin at Val Claret is another conveniently situated green and Grattalu is a lovely wide blue for those wanting to build confidence. Tignes is incredible if you ski at an intermediate level, with miles of powdery blue and red runs includi...
While it's said that those who appreciate Tignes do so for the serious skiing over the après ski, this doesn't do justice to the fact that Tignes' 60+ bars/pubs and 4 night clubs provide some of the best nightlife in the Alps. All villages have their fair share of places to eat and drink, and with a shuttle bus service running 24 hours, you can enjoy your evening without worrying about the journey back. Jam bar is small but with a great atmosphere and Loop bar pretty much offers it all: with live sport, world c...
