2300m at the top of the Three Valleys ski area, VT is the highest ski resort in Europe and part of the biggest linked ski area on the planet. While it's a place for people who, above all else, love to ski, you'll also find some of the country's best après including the legendary Folie Douce, as well as weird and wonderful activities like the 1300m Tyrolienne zip wire. Olde worlde gallic charm it isn't, but skiers will wake up to find some of the best snow in the Alps on their doorstep, and the views over the...
At the summit of the largest ski area in the world and bordering the Vanoise National Park, this is a spectacular place to ski and board. Beginners are well catered for on nursery slopes by the Rond Point des Pistes, where the magic carpets often don't require a lift pass. Kids will love the Junior Park, while the Musaraigne and Campagnols runs in the beginner's area and the new Deux Combes green are perfect to practice on. With a bit more confidence, take the Pionniers or Plein Sud chairs for some cruisy lon...
The après ski here easily rivals other top resorts in the Alps. If you haven't already had the Folie Douce experience, head just under the Plein Sud lift where the "dancefloor on top of the world" is heaving from 3 pm. Another place to party is Bar 360 at the end of the blue Moraine run, which always has live music and cheaper drinks. Back in town, Rue de Gebroulaz is a hub of lively bars where O'Connells is the local Irish pub. The Frog and Roastbeef is a long-time favourite of Brits. L'Eclipse on Galerie Caro...

"Really good food, view pretty awesome!"

Dr Thomas Jackson, Southampton
4/ out of 5
The view is pretty awesome. Inside was kind of wood themed and quite Alpine; the chalet has a good swimming pool and a sauna. None of the rooms were en-suite but ours was a good sized double with a reasonable wardrobe and stuff for storage. We also had a bit of a balcony that looked over Val T which was quite picturesque. There’s a reasonable lounge area and a good sized square table that you all eat around together which is nice and sociable. The food was really good quality, one night they served a duck meal - my better half and I don’t eat duck so they gave us some stuffed peppers as a vegetarian alternative which was really nice. Other meals included potatoes dauphinoise, a chicken dish like Coq au Vin and a decent beef dish. They also did a cooked breakfast in the morning if you wanted it. The host was friendly and generally very efficient and organised some good nights out. You’re only 150m from the nearest access point and then you ski down (it’s a beginner friendly area so anyone could do it).

I was very impressed with the chalet, the host was really good and went out of her way to give us all the information we needed. The food was superb. The chalet is a small one, sleeping 6 which worked out really well – we were a group of 4 and for a lot of the time we had the place to ourselves. The location is perfect, taking no more than 5 minutes for us to get to the slopes, if that. You could ski almost back to the door, though it was quite a challenging ski.

A cosy environment for a small group of 6, you’ll be able to take advantage of everything that's on offer in VT, as it's mostly right at your doorstep. Guests of this property are lucky to be near enough to almost everything you could want from a ski holiday in this top mountain town. A piste 220 yards away, bars and local shops within walking distance, spa or relaxation facilities next door (check before booking), and a lively town with world renowned nightlife just a short bus ride away. For a family, small group of friends or couples, who need space only for two to six in the party, this is a catered chalet with high standards yet low prices, and we all love a bargain.
