Overview: chalet description: Chalet Taja description

Chalet Taja is a superb property which is proving to be a hugely popular part of our St Anton portfolio. This wonderful traditional Tyrolean chalet just oozes Alpine charm and is decorated with many original antiques, fixtures and fittings making it a really lovely home for your stay. Ideally suited to smaller groups of friends or a family, it also boasts a large living room with wood burning stove and an super terrace on which you will find the cutest sauna and outdoor hot tub* - perfect to soak those aching limbs at the end of a hard day after perhaps after taking on the "Arlberg Circuit in a Day."

Situated in a wonderful peaceful location, it is just a few minutes walk from the main Nassereinbahn lift. The local area has a few bars and restaurants and the centre of St Anton is about a 10 minute walk away. All in all, Chalet Taja is a superb choice for those looking for real Austrian escape rather than being right in amongst the hustle and bustle of this world renowned resort. You will be warmly welcomed to The Taja by one of our friendly chalet hosts who lives in the chalet on the ground floor (with one other member of the team).

Did You Know... that you could perhaps add a little spice to your skiing holiday by staying in Chalet Taja!

* Hot-Tub use is restricted to afternoons and before dinner only, 6 days a week (excludes Chalet Host day off)

Meals: Chalet Taja food & drink

We offer our properties on a flexible catering basis therefore providing our guests with as much choice as possible when choosing a fully-catered, part-catered or self-catered chalet or apartment. Your preferences will be discussed at the time of booking and a tailor-made itinerary will be costed based on your requirements.

Our chalet hosts all enjoy cooking and take pride in what they serve and whilst they are not necessarily qualified chefs, they have good experience of dinner party cooking and many of them will have attended one of the well-regarded cookery schools with whom we work closely to ensure the highest calibre of staff possible.

If choosing the fully catered or part catered option, you will be assured of good home-cooked food prepared and served by our specially selected chalet hosts. We do not offer luxury items or haute cuisine, we serve good wholesome hearty food fit for anyone after a hard day on the slopes. Menus will be varied and may include local dishes as well as the more traditional UK favourites such as roasts, lasagne or casseroles.

Our menus have been formed over many years taking into account previous guests’ likes and recommendations and whilst we believe this plan to offer excellent variety, there will be the odd occasion when a dish might not be well-received. We would ask you therefore that if you have any specific dietary requirements or a yearning for dishes in particular, you enquire before booking your holiday and provide us with as much notice as possible regarding specific diets such as vegetarian, vegan, celiac or non-dairy etc.

We update Chalet Taja's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

Brimming with traditional Austrian charm but with all the conveniences of a modern resort, St Anton's vast, high altitude ski area and vibrant atmosphere make it truly world class. It's one of the major international destinations that everyone must visit at least once (and is likely to return to frequently thereafter). Two minutes from the train station and less than an hour's drive from Innsbruck airport, it's a conveniently accessible resort. The main village is traffic free and stretches for about 1km - dot...
It's often said that if you learn to ski or snowboard here, you're likely to find any other resort an utter breeze... Just don't do a Bridget Jones (her memorable descent in 'Edge of Reason' took place on one of the more challenging Arlberg runs) and make sure to take advantage of the excellent tuition on offer. Thanks to local legend Hannes Schneider, St Anton opened the first ski school in 1921. The Skischule Arlberg continues to provide excellent tuition today, so beginners are in good hands. There's a nurs...
The après ski here is absolutely legendary: the atmosphere is constantly buzzing and with a night bus running until 3am, you can really make the most of your evening. You'll find about 20 bars offering a variety of scenes, but to experience après ski at its best you can't leave until you've joined the masses and danced on the tables at world-famous Mooserwirt or The Crazy Kangaroo (Krazy Kanguruh). While it's reputation is lively (and the resort lives up to it) there are lots of options if you prefer a more so...
