Overview: chalet description: Chalet Sapinière I description

The Sapinière I and its sister chalet (Sapinière II) lie in a hamlet right on the slopes, just above La Croisette in Les Menuires. Access to the slopes and the wider 600km Three Valleys ski area couldn't be easier making this a convenient and great value home-from-home.

The apart-chalet is very comfortably furnished with large sofas and a gorgeous wood burner in the lounge/diner. Sit and warm yourself after skiing or boarding all day whilst soaking in the dramatic views through the large windows. There's a small balcony too, perfect for grabbing a morning moment of calm.

Another way to relax is to head to the small shared spa area in the residence which you'll have access to a couple of times a week. There's a sauna, steam room and hot tub plus a relaxation area to completely unwind. There is a small charge for using the facilities, but this can be paid for locally.

Sapinière is French for Fir, which is apt as there's a small Fir wood behind the chalets, so your views are either of the slopes or the woods. Just down from the woods is the nearest lift. Improvers to advanced can clip in straight from the residence and be at the lifts in no time.

To get to the centre of Les Menuires is about a 15-minute walk down the gentle pistes where you arrive in La Croisette with an excellent choice of bars, restaurants and shopping. This really is a great choice if you're looking for Three Valleys skiing without the premium prices!

Meals: Chalet Sapinière I food & drink

Our chalet board basis is designed for skiers and boarders. Breakfast is a fairly extensive affair with cooked and continental options every day. Your daily afternoon tea of freshly baked cakes and biscuits will be waiting for you when you come in from the slopes.

Evening meals are a three-course set-menu with regionally inspired dishes and free-flowing wine throughout the week, all followed by fresh coffee. We provide evening meals on six nights a week leaving you free to head out and explore the resort on one evening.

We update Chalet Sapinière I's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

Together with Saint Martin De Belleville and Val Thorens, Les Menuires (say it Lay-Men-Weer) is part of the Vallée des Belleville and is the cheapest base for skiing in the 3 Valleys. This purpose-built resort is more focussed on the practical than the aesthetic. Le Menuires is split into five villages - Preyerand, La Croisette, Les Fontanettes, Reberty and Les Bruyères, all linked by walking paths, ski runs, shuttle buses and lifts. Les Bruyères or Reberty have the sloping roofs and wood-cladding the Al...
The resort has aimed to provide a wide variety for all abilities – and the proof is in the pudding! The opportunities are outstanding for skiers and snowboarders, but you would expect no less considering it is a part of the world's largest ski area. Novices will find five free lifts either end of the resort for getting to grips on gentle little green runs and longer greens such as La Violette at the top of the gondola from La Croisette. With a healthy mix of reds and blue runs covering the vast majori...
End a day of skiing on the large sun terrace in L'Oisans and sit down in the sunshine with a jug of beer. Kick back with a cocktail or shoot some pool in the cosy Piano Bar Le Kube. Sports games can be watched on the TVs at Café Snack. If you ski over to Val Thorens be sure to go for some drinks at the famous Folie Douce. Those looking for some late-night action have 2 night clubs to choose between; Le New Pop in La Croisette or Le Liberty in Les Bruyères - an intimate underground bar with seats fashioned like...
