Overview: chalet description: Chalet Sandy description

We're delighted to have the 15 person Chalet Sandy in Les Deux Alpes. It's a brand new chalet that will be completed in October 2019 and finished in a traditional style with a modern feel. You can look forward to a high standard of finish and some exceptional views out over the ski area from its elevated position.

The best views will be reserved for the outdoor hot tub on the large balcony. Kick back after a day on the mountain with friends or family and decide where to explore the following day. As well as the hot tub, there's also a sauna and a video room is planned too, so relaxing will be pretty easy here.

You'll find the Sandy close to the main street of Les Deux Alpes on the Vallée Blanche side of the resort, just behind Chalet Hotel Le Crêt. The Diable lift and blue piste are only about 500m away, and for those with kids, the Hotel Aalborg is also close by (around 500m away) with kids' clubs for little ones aged from four months right up to 12 years old.

The main living/dining area will have a double height ceiling with plenty of huge wooden beams for that classic warm and cosy chalet feel. Each of the seven bedrooms will be equally as cosy with ensuite bathrooms.

Don’t forget that you get free guiding and coaching throughout the week from fully qualified ski and board instructors.

Designed for confident blue and red-run skiers and snowboarders, they'll show you around the mountain on free guiding sessions, and even offer free coaching sessions to help you become a more confident skier or snowboarder.

There are at least three sessions a week and we guarantee each guest at least two sessions a week. Your hosts will explain how it works when you get there.

Our chalet board basis is designed for skiers and boarders. Start every morning with an extensive continental breakfast, and cooked options on most days. Your daily afternoon tea of freshly baked cakes and biscuits will be waiting for you when you come in from the slopes.

Evening meals are a three-course set-menu with regionally inspired dishes and free-flowing wine throughout the week, all followed by fresh coffee. We provide evening meals on six nights a week leaving you free to head out and explore the resort on one evening.

We update Chalet Sandy's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

Glacier Skiing Top après Lots of activities

Spectacular views of Mont Blanc aren’t the only bonus of the glacier - this ‘upside down’ ski resort is one of the most snow-sure in the Alps, so much so that you can ski here in the summertime. Much loved for its après ski, the town's main strip is bursting with some of the best bars in the mountains.

Grenoble is the closest airport with a transfer time of just under 2 hours, making the resort accessible by road. The resort was first used for skiing as early as 1925 when the first ski tow was built. The “Les Deux Alpes”, as we know it today, was established in 1946. It is commonly assumed that the name is derived from the two mountains on either side of the town when in reality the name stems from the two villages on either side of the settlement: Mont De Lans and Venosc. The resort is compact, and you’...
There are plenty of beginner slopes on the front face with runs like les Vikings and Les Gentianes for those learning to ski. The great thing about Les Deux Alpes is that there are some terrific beginner slopes higher up the mountain so new skiers can experience the benefits of skiing at altitude. The Cretes area at 2100m is the favourite spot for ski schools, with the ski escalator a welcome aid to those learning to ski. The run home at the end of the day used to have a fearsome reputation for being overcrowded...
You don’t have to look far to find good après in Les Deux Alpes. One of the best bars in resort is Pano bar, this slopeside restaurant, based at 2,600m comes alive at happy hour between 3 pm and 5 pm every day with discounted drinks and a DJ set that will vibrate through your whole body. At the bottom of the piste, Umbrella bar is a great place to keep the party going. If you want to take the night further then Smithy’s is the place to go, with great modern music as well as live entertainment on several night...
