Location - where is Chalet Nadine

Chalet Nadine is the largest of these chalets and is on the first floor which is actually piste level so this chalet couldn't be more ski convenient! The chalet is bright and welcoming thanks to its plenty of windows offering lovely views towards the Bellevarde. The living and dining area are mostly open plan with access to the balcony, there is a huge dining table and a couple of separate cosy seating areas with comfy settees and chairs. In addition, there is a log fire central to the dining and seating areas which provides a lovely focal point and a great spot for enjoying canapes or an after dinner coffee. The bedrooms are fairly typical of French developments with space at a premium, so whilst not on the spacious side, they are all ensuite with most having baths.

Overview - chalet description - Chalet Nadine description

We are delighted to be able to offer this collection of chalet apartments within the traditional style Praz de la Legettaz Residence. The chalets (named after the owners daughters!) are all very similar in style with plenty of wood panelling, squishy leather sofas and large dining tables.

They boast a fantastic ski location right beside the piste with a very gentle track leading straight to the main lifts so perfect for getting to ski school or for keen skiers you can be on first lifts within a minute of clicking on your skis. You can either ski back to the chalet or if you do take the bus, the stop is literally a few steps from the door. The resort centre can be easily accessed either walking across the nursery slopes in around 10 minutes or you can always take the local bus which runs every 15 minutes during the day connecting with the main resort buses which run constantly.

Available to individuals as well as groups looking to take over a whole chalet, we are confident these lovely chalets will prove popular for guests looking to be in the perfect piste side location. They will also appeal to Families, particularly those with younger children due to the ease of access to the slopes and also to ski school - you can literally walk out from your chalet and ski away! Don't forget we have 3 other chalet apartments within this building so ideal for larger groups to book together.

Families - any extra notes for parents with children

Children in our chalets

We welcome children in any of our chalets at any time throughout the season regardless of whether you are a group taking over the whole chalet or individual bookings into a larger chalet.

  • Our generous special reductions apply throughout the season
  • Selected family rooms with half price for under 12s.
  • The same reductions apply to all your children (not just the first two!).
  • Our child discount applies whether your children share your room or not.
  • Children enjoying discounts are still counted towards group discounts.

(Child discounts do not apply to late availability/reduced price holidays) For all children under the age of 12 years we offer a generous 10% discount , however in selected chalets and family rooms, children can go at half price. All discounted children enjoy our child friendly early supper which our chalet staff will provide at approximately 6pm, (a parent must be on hand to oversee their child). This will be a two course meal with tasty (& healthy!) dishes such as shepherd’s pie, pasta bakes and casseroles followed by fruit, ice cream, crumbles etc. We encourage parents to chat to our chalet staff prior to their arrival to discuss their children’s meals. If you are taking over a whole chalet and would prefer your children to join the normal adult dinner then there is a supplement of £50 per child per week, please advise us of this at least two weeks prior to your departure. If you are in a shared chalet then we expect children under 12 to have the early supper. The only exception is Christmas dinner and sometimes meals on arrival night if you are arriving late. We charge £100 for babies under the age of 2. Subject to their availability, we can provide travel cots and high chairs if required, please ensure you bring your own baby sleeping bag or blankets and a harness if required for high chairs. Flight seats are not included and car seats are not provided on our coach transfers. However baby seats are available on private taxi transfers, please ask for prices for private transfers. We do not provide jars or formula but your chalet host will happily keep some fruit/veg to one side and make a puree for your baby. Breakfast and children's supper is available to older babies who can manage normal solid foods. All our chalets have tv’s and dvd players so please feel free to bring your own selection of dvd’s and also a selection of general board games. Please bear in mind that our chalets/chalet hotels are not equipped to be child safe, there won't be stair gates or socket covers for example, bunk beds may not have guard rails and not all chalets have microwaves if you need these for sterilising bottles etc. Please make sure you are familiar with the chalet layout and location of bedrooms and bear in mind that entrances maybe shared with other residents. Children's behaviour and their safety remain the sole responsibility of their parents at all times.

Childcare

We don't provide any child care facilities ourselves however there are two local nurseries.

Ski School

If you wish to book ski school for your children, please ensure you do this as soon as possible as lessons get booked up quickly and particularly if you are traveling during the school holiday. Refer to our ski school pages for contact details and please contact them directly to organize and book.

Meals - food and drink in Chalet Nadine

Hearty breakfast, teatime treat, 4 course dinner & house wine

Chalet Staff

Our smaller chalets are run by one or two chalet hosts. They are keen cooks, most having done a cookery course and/or having catering experience, they are also cheerful, enthusiastic, hardworking and outgoing. To ensure you make the most of your holiday, they make your beds, keep the chalet clean and tidy, prepare, cook and serve your meals and generally look after you.

Cuisine - Vital ingredients for a good holiday

Good quality ingredients and imaginative menus are the basis for our chalet cuisine. Whilst it is impossible to "please all of the people all of the time" we do our best to present varied and appetizing menus that the majority of guests will enjoy. Having had particularly good feedback with some wonderful and generous comments about our menus, we are hopefully doing it right! Chalet holidays are always about good skiing, good company and good food. The resorts we go to provide the good skiing, our staff provide the good food and so it is just down to you to provide the good company! Our Chalet staff have a well earned day off during your stay, usually Wednesday for Val d'Isere and Tignes, Thursday for St Anton. On this day, breakfast and afternoon tea will be laid out for you to help yourself and you are free to sample one of the local restaurants in the evening - our staff will be pleased to help with recommendations and bookings.

Breakfast

Start your day with a hearty breakfast to fuel your day on the slopes, choose from a selection of cereals (not forgetting a bowl of Skiers porridge!), fresh fruit and yoghurts, freshly baked local bread and choice of preserves accompanied by fruit juices, tea and coffee. In addition, apart from chalet staff day off and change over day, and assuming you have the room, enjoy a varied cooked breakfast such as eggs, bacon and beans or pancakes.

Afternoon tea

On your return from the slopes, pop the kettle on and help yourself to a teatime treat with a slice (or two!) of delicious home-made cake or biscuits.

Dinner

Just imagine a casual dinner party with friends, now imagine that minus the stress of shopping, cooking, clearing up, ordering taxis, organising babysitters...... well now you can! Relax, your evening starts around 7.30pm swapping some ski tales and banter over canapes and aperitif followed by a delicious freshly cooked dinner with unlimited house wine until coffee to finish.

Special Diets

Our Chalet staff always aim to please and create menus everybody likes. If given notice they are happy within reason to adapt their menus to your specific tastes and dietary requests but please do bear in mind that chalets are mostly private houses and do not have vast kitchens or teams of chefs to cope with cooking separate meals for everyone!. We provide a vegetarian alternative for guests that don't eat meat or that evening choice of meat or fish. Please ensure that we know about any dietary requests (whether by choice or for health or religion) including gluten or dairy free well in advance of your holiday - if you wait until a couple of days before arrival or even wait until you are in resort, it may take days to source particular products, if at all. Our chalet staff obviously aim to please and ensure you have a tasty selection of food through the week but you must be happy to compromise with our chalet menu and accept that we cannot offer a completely alternative menu for you and you may see the same cake or treat more than once!. We encourage you to chat to our chalet staff to discuss your request and they will be in touch with you during the week prior to your arrival to run through the menu and to advise with regards bringing any items with. Please note, we cannot provide totally vegan meals or kosher and cannot guarantee a nut free environment.

Children's Supper

We provide a child friendly supper with two courses of home cooked and nutritious food, at around 6pm for all children under 12years. We encourage you to chat to your chalet staff before arrival with regards your childrens meals so they know they are on the right track with their menu! If you have sole use of a chalet and you would prefer your children to eat a normal dinner with you at 8pm there is a £50 upgrade. For those in a shared chalet it is generally expected that under 12s would have the early supper.

Picnic Lunches - Keep your Euro spending to the minimum and instead order one of our good value picnic lunches available locally from your chalet staff. A tasty filled baguette/roll, piece of fruit, can of drink and a choccie bar should keep hunger pangs at bay!

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounce it: val de saire/sare/ser) makes up half of Espace Killy which is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the attractiveness of its surroundings, the resort itself is a compilation of alpine hamlets made up of cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and eye-catching church steeple at its centre, the whole place is truly oozing alpine charm. And while dre...
In Val d'Isere you'll be skiing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski there, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of its premier status, the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009, along with the World Cup every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, beginners can...
Famed for its après ski, you're unlikely to have a dull evening in Val. The resort has 4 nightclubs including the legendary Dicks T Bar (open from 4pm - 5am). Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at Le Folie Douce, which boasts some of the best après ski in Europe. “Bananas” is another favourite, well known for its fantastic cocktails and convenient slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 92 restaurants, you'll find dishes to suit all tastes from traditional Savoyarde indulgence to Marga...
