Located at 1800m, and just 1h15m transfer from Geneva and nestled in the Hameau de Flaine, 2km above the resort centre and offering glorious views to the Grand Massif mountain range, Chalet Marmotte is a comfortably furnished property, offering excellent value for money and is perfect for a short ski break in a wonderful snow sure ski area, with over 250km of slopes at your disposal.

The chalet is Scandinavian in style, built in wood and clad in white timber with a delightful wooden-decked balcony, in a hamlet of similarly-styled properties. There's an open-plan living room and dining area on the ground floor along with a ski room with heated boot warmers, complete with wood burner, television and DVD player, which opens onto a south-facing balcony offering super views to the mountain range opposite. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout.

Sleeping eight adults, there are four bedrooms, two on the first floor with sloping ceilings under the eaves and two on the lower ground floor. The first floor has a double/twin bedroom with balcony plus a twin bedroom; these rooms share a bathroom with bath tub. The rooms on the lower ground floor both feature a balcony. There is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, sharing a bathroom with a bath tub and WC. A separate WC can also be found on the ground floor.

Your chalet host will be on hand throughout your stay, preparing a daily breakfast (continental plus hot option), afternoon snack and cake with tea and coffee, plus a hearty home-made 3-course evening meal. Red and white wine is served throughout your meal. The chalet host has a day off on Wednesday, so a continental breakfast will be left out but no afternoon cake or dinner is provided.

In the Hameau de Flaine itself, there's a ski hire shop, small supermarket plus a bar and restaurant. The resort of Flaine is approximately 2km away and can be reached by ski bus in 5-10 minutes or intermediate skiers can take a ski track down through the trees, snow permitting. Ski lockers are available at the bus stop 200m away. In the evenings and running until 11:30pm, a free English-speaking taxi service operates (pre-booking required), so you can get to and from the centre easily.

At just an hour's drive from Geneva, Flaine's known as a 'fly-in, ski-in ski-out' resort. The ease of skiing that families and keen skiers rave about here's no accident – legendary architect Marcel Lajos Breuer designed it to be as ski friendly as possible, and he did a jolly good job. A ski lift or piste is never far away, and the town itself is entirely traffic-free, with cars only allowed to enter to drop off and pick up luggage. Whilst it won't be winning the gong for chocolate box charm, Breuer's work...
With its high altitudes producing outstanding ski conditions throughout the season, Flaine is famed for offering an all-round ski area with plenty of slopes for all abilities. It is the perfect place for some quality skiing or snowboarding. Flaine is a popular place to learn to ski or snowboard and even has free beginners lifts for those who are finding their feet. The schools all have English speaking instructors who can guide you through the basics and have you gliding down the slopes in no time. Once you...
The excellent skiing in the resort is matched by fun après ski, and there's something to suit everyone - from a family night out to an all-night party thanks to a range of places to eat, drink and dance. If you're staying in Flaine Forum, you'll enjoy all the restaurants and bars right on your doorstep. The après is a short bus ride from Flaine Foret which is considered the slightly more residential part of Flaine. You can get a ski lift or shuttle bus into the town for après so you won't be missing out. ...
