I am vegetarian and they catered for my needs so well, I can honestly say you don't even find that standard of vegetarian food in a lot of restaurants! ... + more

This package holiday to Chalet Marguerite in La Plagne, France departs Saturday 30th December 2017, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. A fabulous all-rounder: ski the Paradiski’s wonderful mix of tree-lined trails, knee-deep off piste and wide open cruisers, before returning to whichever purpose built village or age-old hamlet you’re staying in. La Plagne’s easily one of Europe’s best ski resorts and one we visit again and again.

In the Savoie region of the French Alps, La Plagne was established in the early sixties and now consists of 11 villages: 7 purpose built and 4 traditional. The aptly named Plagne Centre at the heart of the resort is the main hub of shops, restaurants and après ski. Just underneath lies Plagne 1800, a cluster of chalets spread across a steep hillside. Higher up are Aime-la-Plagne, Plagne-Soleil and Plagne-Villages, all accessible via chairlifts from Plagne Centre. Plagne Bellecote rests over a low ridge to th...
There are plenty of nursery slopes with access to free beginner lifts for those new to skiing. This is complimented by a wide choice of different ski schools ready to cater to your particular needs. The slopes around the Belle Plagne area are particularly suitable for beginners, with the blue run linking Les Bauches to Montchavin, providing a manageable step up in difficulty from the nursery slopes. For those who class themselves as intermediate standard skiers this really is paradise. 77% of the runs are gra...
It might not rival Val d'sere or Verbier for their wild party scenes, but this is an exceptional resort for unique après ski opportunities. Spend the night in the Black Sheep Igloos, facing Mont Blanc, complete with a fondue meal and a morning wakeup call with breakfast. If this isn’t your idea of fun then ice climbing in Champagny and husky sledding are also on offer. One experience not to be missed is the bobsleigh track, used for Olympic training. There are a variety of ways you can choose to go down it, bu...

We had Mark and Rob as our chalet hosts at the Chalet Marguerite in La Plagne. I cannot express enough how fantastic they were. They were so friendly and kind. I am vegetarian and they catered for my needs so well, I can honestly say you don't even find that standard of vegetarian food in a lot of restaurants! They really went above and beyond to look after us and cater for our every needs - booking dinner reservations, ordering extra bread in the mornings on our behalf so we could make our lunches. Their punctuality and efficiency was extraordinary and the chalet was always spick and span. Both Mark and Rob were faultless - you have got two incredible hosts on your hands there!
