Overview - chalet description - Chalet Loup Blanc description

NB: Next year chalet catering will be 5 nights catered not 6, for winter 2018/2019 (i.e. guests eat out 2 nights, if staying in this property).

Chalet Loup Blanc has an enviable location in the heart of Les 2 Alpes, close to the popular Venosc Square with its many shops, bars and restaurants. Beautifully designed, both Loup Blanc and sister Chalet Renard Bleu next door, stand apart from other chalets in the resort due to location, comfort, furnishings and facilities including a sauna and outdoor covered plunge-pool with each chalet.

Guests will appreciate the chalets’ close proximity to the skiing and easy access to the resort centre. It’s just a 500m walk to the Diable 6 seater chairlift which swiftly carries skiers up to the Les Crêtes area and beyond. Alternatively take the Super Venosc chairlift, taking you to the Vallée Blanche ski area on the other side of the valley, which is now connected to the main ski area by the Côte blue run and the Petite Aiguille chairlift. The Jandri Express, which delivers skiers to the glacier in only 7 minutes, is also an option for ski access each day.

Chalet Loup Blanc has been designed to a high specification in a classic alpine style, with attractive facades of exposed stone and warm woods, coupled with fresh open-plan interiors furnished with contemporary flair. The well appointed lounge and dining area of each chalet includes a feature fireplace and plenty of comfortable seating, but the real wow factor lies beyond, through the double French windows which lead to the decked terrace area and the outdoor covered plunge pool. You may be tempted to take a dip at any time, thanks to the pool being both heated and covered in an attractive glass canopy.

Each of the Loup Blanc’s bedrooms is a good size with wooden floors, panelled walls and some exposed beams as well as smart modern shower rooms. Many of them also benefit from a balcony.

A sauna on the ground floor of the chalet completes the sense of quality and style which our guests have come to expect from recent additions to our portfolio.

Meals - food and drink in Chalet Loup Blanc

We set very high standards for our cuisine, and train our staff extensively before the season starts, to ensure that you will thoroughly enjoy every meal on your holiday with us. We also take our Health and Safety responsibilities extremely seriously, so all our chalet and Chalet Hotel staff involved in food preparation are trained to the City & Guilds qualification – Level 2 in Food Safety during the pre-season training course. For six days of the week for our 2017/18 season, and five days of the week for 2018/19, our staff prepare all your meals, as described below.

Breakfast

A good breakfast is essential on a ski holiday, so we provide both a hot option, as well as a continental selection with a choice of cereals or porridge, fruit juices, plentiful tea, coffee and bread (and croissants in France), cold meats, cheese and preserves, which is normally presented buffet-style for you to help yourself. On our staff's day(s) off, only the continental breakfast will be provided.

Piste Picnics

Our Chalet Hotels can also prepare a packed lunch for you on request, at a small local charge. For skiers keen to keep their Euro-spending to an absolute minimum, this is the ideal way to keep your costs down!

Afternoon Tea

The traditional 'welcome home' after a day on the slopes will be laid out for you in your chalet or Chalet Hotel, ready for your return, every day except on the staff's day(s) off. A good cup of tea or coffee is the perfect accompaniment to a delicious slice of freshly home-baked cake and keeps hungry skiers happy until dinner is ready.

Dinner

2017/18 season cuisine

A three-course adult-only chalet dinner starts with Prosseco, followed by an appetiser, main course and dessert, and completed by coffee to round off your evening. Your choice of complimentary quality red and white wines is unlimited during the meal service, and chilled water is also of course always available.

2018/19 season cuisine

Our hosts will cook you a three-course adult only meal 5 nights a week. Consisting of an appetiser, main course and dessert – with unlimited complimentary red, white and rosé wine during service! The staff nights off are a great opportunity to experience some local restaurents and cuisine. Speak to your resort representative for recommendations and help with reservations.

Our Quality Wines

We are very proud of our wine selection for chalets and Chalet Hotels, which combines crisp and fruity whites with medium to full bodied reds, for a variety of palates. In our Chalet Hotels we also offer an additional light fresh rosé to our guests’ choice. We select our wines in conjunction with our good friends Nicolas and Véronique – the third generation in the Perret family’s fine wine business based in the Savoie. Nicolas is a qualified wine expert, having trained at the prestigious Burgundy Wine University in Beaune. Each season in October, Nicolas & Véronique bring over a new selection for us to sample (someone has to do it!) and together we choose our wines for the coming season, based on our menus and their pure enjoyment factor. Wine is an incredibly subjective and emotive subject, however the feedback we have received from our guests over recent seasons endorses our aims of providing wines to enhance your meal and to suit most tastes. We hope you will enjoy them as much as we do!

Children's High Tea

In Chalets and Chalet Hotels with family guests, High Tea provides children under 13 years with a healthy menu, tailored more towards children's tastes and puréed food is available for infants on request. High Tea is at 5.30pm, and children do not join the main adult-only dinner.

Children's High Tea in Chalet Hotels

Families staying in one of our Chalet Hotels may choose to eat separately (High Tea at 5:30pm) or all dine together at the later adult dinner time if children who have received a child discount pay the meal upgrade charge of £39 at the time of booking only.

Vegetarian and Special Diets

Vegetarian options are always on our 'Culinary Choice' menu in our Chalet Hotels, and are available in our chalets - just advise us at time of bookings so that we can ensure that our staff can prepare. Other special diets can generally be catered for at a cost of £35 per person per week. Any dietary requirements must be advised to us at the time of booking in order for us to be fully prepared.

Christmas and New Year

All of our chalets and Chalet Hotels will serve a traditional Christmas dinner with a glass of Champagne to start off the evening. This will include roast turkey with all of the trimmings, Christmas pudding, mince pies, crackers and party hats plus a fantastic Alpine atmosphere in which to enjoy the day.
A special festive menu will also be served on New Year’s Eve, alongside the added bonus that many resorts put on fantastic firework displays. A glass of fizz, whilst watching fireworks over the snow-capped peaks of the Alps.. what better way to bring in the New Year!

NB: Next year chalet catering will be 5 nights catered not 6, for winter 2018/2019 (i.e. guests eat out 2 nights, if staying in this property).

We update Chalet Loup Blanc's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

This package holiday to Chalet Loup Blanc in Les Deux Alpes, France departs Sunday 4th March 2018, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

Glacier Skiing Awesome après Loads to do

Gobsmacking views of Mont Blanc aren’t the only bonus of the glacier - this ‘upside down’ ski resort is one of the most snow sure in the Alps, so much so that you can ski here in the summertime. Much loved for its après ski, the town's main strip is bursting with some of the best bars in the mountains.

Grenoble is the closest airport with a transfer time of just under 2 hours, making the resort really accessible by road. The resort was first used for skiing as early as 1925, when the first ski tow was erected. Unfortunately, this rather Neanderthal piece of equipment fell down a mere 15 minutes after the opening ceremony! The “Les Deux Alpes”, as we know it today, was established in 1946. It is commonly assumed that the name is derived from the two mountains on either side of the town, when in reality the na...
There are plenty of beginner slopes on the front face with runs like les Vikings and Les Gentianes for those learning to ski. The great thing about LDA is that there are some terrific beginner slopes higher up the mountain so new skiers can really experience the benefits of skiing at altitude. The Cretes area at 2100m is the favourite spot for ski schools, with the Ski Escalator a welcome aid to those learning to ski. A top tip for beginners is to either ski the green back to resort early or opt for the gondola ...
You don’t have to look far to find good après in L2A. The best place to start has to be the Panoramique bar, known as Pano bar to the locals. This slopeside restaurant, based at 2,600m really comes alive between 3pm and 5pm every day with a DJ set that will vibrate through your whole body. At the bottom of the piste, Umbrella bar is a great place to keep the party going. If you want to take the night further then Smithy’s is the place to go, with great modern music as well as a few nights of live entertainmen...

"Our holiday retreat was the new Chalet Loup Blanc in a stylish part of the town, close to all the best shops, restaurants and bars. We were among the first guests to stay there and joined two other families to help “christen” it. The seven-bedroom property was magnificently furnished and wonderfully cosy with its open fireplace combined with under-floor heating. The wood-panelled chalet also had its own sauna and small plunge pool, into which some of our fellow guests liked to leap after a roll in the snow. Crazy people. Our chalet hosts, charming Charlie and her boyfriend Christian, both only 18, had received intensive training in the art of hospitality but were understandably a little nervous about catering for their first-time visitors, let alone cooking a festive feast. However, their fears were totally unwarranted. They kept the chalet immaculately clean, served up very satisfying cooked breakfasts, baked marvellous cakes for afternoon tea and whipped up superb three-course dinners, including turkey with all the trimmings. What we particularly liked about Les Deux Alpes was the fact that it is built on a plateau, so there are no hills. Getting around requires little effort, not that we had to walk great distances; Chalet Loup Blanc is just 250 yards from one of the main chairlifts. ... On Christian and Charlie’s night off, we dined at the Crepes A Gogo restaurant, where we cooked our own steak on a hot plate and teamed it with delicious salads, tasty new potatoes and a couple of bottles of Brouilly. We finished with mouth-watering crepes. Magnifique and all for just e36 each." From: ‘Plunge pools, cheese fondue and exhilarating ski runs: Les Deux Alpes is unbeatable’, Express, 01/02/2014

I stayed here with a group in December and it's one of the nicest chalets I've seen! The tasteful furnishings and the owner's attention to detail really make it special. The bedrooms were an excellent size and, having only recently been built, the shower rooms were fantastic and modern. The plunge pool and sauna were a little bit of luxury after a long day on the slopes! It's close to the centre and there are tonnes of bars nearby to choose from. The 500m to the lift was actually a lot easier than I imagined, and the benefit is that this lift is quieter that the main gondola. I think this chalet is perfect for groups and couples.

This newly designed chalet maybe a modern addition but its beautifully traditional in style and set in a prime location in Les Deux Alpes, within a short walk to the new high speed Diable chairlift and right next to Venosc square (which is known for its fun après ski). Most rooms have a balcony where you can view the spectacular mountain range or village. One of the more luxurious things about the chalet is the covered heated plunge pool exclusive to the chalet (check operating dates before booking). This chalet gives you a lot of value for money and is repeat-booked regularly. A spectacular place to stay, making for one of the best ski holidays in Les 2 Alpes.
