Overview: chalet description: Chalet La Pousse Caillou description

Our beautiful Chalet Le Pousse Caillou sits centrally on a large plot in the Mussillon area of Méribel. It is in an area of large exclusive chalets but still only a five minute walk from the town centre if you decide on a relaxed stroll into Méribel. The chalet is on the same small road as our very popular Chalet Phoebe and Chalet Amarena so works really well if you have larger groups wanting to holiday close to each other. Le Pousse Caillou epitomises a luxurious yet traditional alpine escape. All interior fixtures and fittings are of high quality and combine contemporary features with warm traditional chalet interiors. Lots of beautiful wood has been used in this sophisticated property.

Arranged over three floors, Le Pousse Caillou instantly provides guests with a home from home feel with really high quality fittings and finish. The chalet boasts a separate TV room on the ground floor that provides the ideal hideaway for some downtime after a fun-filled day on the slopes. There is a comfortable open plan living/dining area furnished with Ligne Roset. An open plan kitchen leads off from this area

To truly unwind, take a dip in the chalet’s outdoor sunken hot tub, accessed through the sliding terrace doors. Pousse Caillou is set back in a large plot with a spacious front drive in the Mussillon region of Méribel, the chalet sits perfectly overlooking the beautiful mountain backdrop.

Food

We are passionate about food and drink. The menus served in our chalets reflect this and we think would be best described as delicious, imaginative and freshly produced. Our resort manager and head chef Ken, will soon be busy training up all the chefs on a variety of wonderful dishes. Here's a quick taster of what to expect:

  • At breakfast, look out for yoghurt and freshly made compote along with various cooked options.
  • Mouthwatering cakes for afternoon tea or perhaps you would like to sample a charcuterie platter instead with breads and pickles.
  • For canapés, Yakitori salmon skewers with hot and sour cucumber or maybe pressed game terrine with homemade carrot chutney.
  • A sample dinner menu might consist of a Mediterranean vegetable tart with pistou followed by braised shoulder and seared rump of lamb accompanied by creamed spinach, mash and an olive jus. Followed by poached pears, crumble, ice cream, poaching syrup and of course a selection of both interesting and regional cheeses.

Wine

Our wines are all carefully selected and chosen to compliment the food we serve. Your chalet host will reccommend wines at the start of each meal, however we understand wine is subjective and if you have a favourite! We are delighted to continue to be working with the Languedoc winemaker Paul Boyer. Many of our returning guests will now be very familiar with his superb wines.

We update Chalet La Pousse Caillou's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

3 Valleys ski area Excellent ski schools Lively après ski

Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.

Meribel's location is tricky to beat, slap bang in the centre of the mammoth Three Valleys ski area. British made, and largely Brit run, it's a destination we flock to year after year for a homely atmosphere in a good looking resort with more than enough pistes for a week (or three). It's made up of a huddle of gorgeous hamlets, built in traditional wood and stone and surrounded by thick woodland. The main area is Meribel Centre (usually known just as Meribel). A traditional alpine village with choc-box chale...
Meribel is one of the best ski resorts to learn in. There are three beginner areas known as 'Ski Facile' (easy ski) plus great green pistes to practise on including Le Foret and Altiport. Both runs are carefully planned out so you can practice at your own pace in quiet surroundings. If you're skiing with children, there are fantastic ski schools and child-orientated areas, including animal sculptures scattered around the trees at the 'Pistes des Animaux' where children can learn about local wildlife as they e...
Whether your day on the hill leaves you wanting to relax with a vin chaud, have a pint and play pool, or party the night away, your time off the slopes can be as varied as the day spent cruising the incredible Trois Vallees. It's said that you haven't experienced après ski here (or anywhere for that matter) until you've sampled toffee vodka in Le Rond Point, which is easily one of the most famous après ski bars in the world - complete with a slide down to the toilets! Meribel's rightly famous for its nightl...
