Overview: chalet description: Chalet La Grande Casse description

WHAT A TRANSORMATION!
GRANDE CASSE IS NOW TOTALLY REFURBISHED AND THE DIFFERENCE IS INCREDIBLE. HATS OFF TO THE CHALET'S NEW OWNERS!

They have knocked out a bedroom and so made the living spaces much bigger. So it's now for 8 guests, not 10. They've also totally revamped the kitchen, lounge and dining areas. Great news for the chalet host and the guests!

French windows off the lounge open out onto a large balcony looking West towards La Daille so you can see the Funival disappearing into the tunnel making its way up to the top of Bellevarde.

All four remodelled twin bedrooms are spacious with beautiful contemporary facilities, including new bathrooms with bath, shower and wc. Each bedroom also has a balcony.

As with all of our six ‘Cacholet' chalets, your holiday can be made even more relaxing by sinking into our two outdoor hot tubs after skiing.

Chalet board: cooked breakfast, afternoon tea and a 3-course evening meal with unlimited wine at dinner, coffee and mints 5 nights a week. Champagne reception with canapés on Sunday evening, with canapés and fizz on every other catered evening. Cheeseboard once a week.

Food & Wine

Your day starts with freshly brewed tea or coffee (don’t worry, we bring real teabags from the UK) and a spread of fresh crusty baguette and jams, yoghurts, fruit, cereals and porridge on the table. The cooked breakfast menu changes every day but includes bacon, sausages, eggs, French toast, grilled tomato, succulent mushrooms, Heinz baked beans and HP sauce…

Once you’ve returned from your tough day on the slopes, homemade afternoon tea is served and favourites range from classic treats such as scones with cream and jam to squidgy brownies or raspberry and white chocolate cupcakes. In the evening we let our experienced hosts use their imaginations and the fantastic fresh produce we have to create a mouthwatering 3-course menu for the week.

Unlimited wine

Unlimited red, rosé and white wines (from bottles, not boxes!) are served through dinner, (with coffee and chocolates in the comfy seats after your meal!)

Wine Lovers' Package

If you’re a bit of a wine buff, you can pre-order our Wine Lover's Package which is just £48pp for 6 bottles of our upgraded selection - you choose whether you'd like 6 whites, 6 reds, our mixed selection or your very own combination of the above!

Special diets

Children are equally well looked after. If you wish your youngsters to have an earlier tea – all homemade, fresh and nutritious, of course – then please let us know in advance so we can pass the message on to your host.

If there’s anything you’d rather not eat, whether for moral, sensory or digestive reasons, please don’t hesitate to let us know before you travel. We won’t charge you a penny extra.

We update Chalet La Grande Casse's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...
