Overview - chalet description - Chalet l’Olan description

The Olan (named after a local mountain) has some pretty incredible views of the mountains from the large south-facing wrap-around balcony, perfect if you love getting a good sunset picture! It's also not a bad spot to enjoy a drink or two before your home-cooked evening meal.

The chalet sits in a peaceful residential area with easy access to one of the main lifts in the resort - the Diable chairlift 200m away. The Place de Venosc is only 100m away and has a good choice of bars, shops and cafés which are perfect for an early evening stroll. For a bit more life, take a 10-15 walk and you'll find yourself in the main resort hub.

It's a really lovely place to relax and unwind. There's well-seasoned wood panelling on the walls which gives off an almost library-like calm. Couple that with the antique yet unfussy furniture and you have a rustic style with slightly contemporary soft furnishings to add to the appeal and atmosphere.

The Olan sleeps 10 to 13 people in five good sized bedrooms. Most are ensuite with a mix of twin, triple and quads meaning that any group make up can be handled easily here.

Meals - food and drink in Chalet l’Olan

Our chalet board basis is designed for skiers and boarders. Breakfast is a fairly extensive affair with cooked and continental options every day. Your daily afternoon tea of freshly baked cakes and biscuits will be waiting for you when you come in from the slopes.

Evening meals are a three-course set-menu with regionally inspired dishes and free-flowing wine throughout the week, all followed by fresh coffee. We provide evening meals on six nights a week leaving you free to head out and explore the resort on one evening.

We update Chalet l’Olan's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

This package holiday to Chalet l’Olan in Les Deux Alpes, France departs Saturday 7th April 2018, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. Glacier Skiing Awesome après Loads to do

Gobsmacking views of Mont Blanc aren’t the only bonus of the glacier - this ‘upside down’ ski resort is one of the most snow sure in the Alps, so much so that you can ski here in the summertime. Much loved for its après ski, the town's main strip is bursting with some of the best bars in the mountains.

Grenoble is the closest airport with a transfer time of just under 2 hours, making the resort really accessible by road. The resort was first used for skiing as early as 1925, when the first ski tow was erected. Unfortunately, this rather Neanderthal piece of equipment fell down a mere 15 minutes after the opening ceremony! The “Les Deux Alpes”, as we know it today, was established in 1946. It is commonly assumed that the name is derived from the two mountains on either side of the town, when in reality the na...
There are plenty of beginner slopes on the front face with runs like les Vikings and Les Gentianes for those learning to ski. The great thing about LDA is that there are some terrific beginner slopes higher up the mountain so new skiers can really experience the benefits of skiing at altitude. The Cretes area at 2100m is the favourite spot for ski schools, with the Ski Escalator a welcome aid to those learning to ski. A top tip for beginners is to either ski the green back to resort early or opt for the gondola ...
You don’t have to look far to find good après in L2A. The best place to start has to be the Panoramique bar, known as Pano bar to the locals. This slopeside restaurant, based at 2,600m really comes alive between 3pm and 5pm every day with a DJ set that will vibrate through your whole body. At the bottom of the piste, Umbrella bar is a great place to keep the party going. If you want to take the night further then Smithy’s is the place to go, with great modern music as well as a few nights of live entertainmen...
