Location: where is Chalet Kakisa

The location of this chalet cannot be beaten, not only does it offer mind blowing views, it is really close to the piste at 1850m altitude, chair lifts all around you, and just a short lift ride from the centre of the resort, piste side bars and restaurants and ski school meeting point. You can ski out from the chalet and back to within 100m. For guests staying in Chalet Kakisa our pre-booked ski hire is provided by Avoriaz Sport, which is moments away from the property.

Overview: chalet description: Chalet Kakisa description

* Piste-side Location *
Chalet Kakisa sits close to the centre of Avoriaz, a vertical lift ride away from the noise and bustle of the very centre, but perfectly placed on the piste side circumference for breath-taking mountain panoramas and yards from the ski school meeting point, bars and restaurants. When the pistes empty at 5pm you feel privileged to soak up the sublime and slightly eerie wilderness of snow-capped mountains all to yourself. When the lifts start to turn in the morning and your landscape fills with skiers you almost begrudge them your calm.

Chalet Kakisa sleeps 8-10 guests in four en suite bedrooms, one of which has additional bunk beds (charged at half the adult price) making this an ideal space for two families or a group of friends. The chalet is lazily spread over four floors, warm your toes in front of the open fire or curl up on the squashy sofas on the mezzanine above to watch a film. Each of the bedrooms enjoy stunning views and can be presented as either a twin or a double.

You can put your skis on right outside the chalet door and ski away in the mornings, the piste is less than 100m from the chalet, so just a short walk at the end of the day to return for afternoon tea.

For guests staying in Chalet Kakisa we recommend the ski hire service from Avoriaz Sport. The shop is a short walk from the chalet so once you are settled and have sampled the afternoon tea that awaits you on arrival a member of the Ski team will take you to the shop. We are confident you'll get the very best of service from the Avoriaz Sport team.

Established in the 1960s as the brainchild of Olympic champion skier Jean Vuarnet, Avoriaz is a purpose build resort with tonnes of character. The wood-clad buildings have a striking appearance that set it apart from other destinations. Even more impressive is the 360° panorama of the Alps. Avoriaz is brilliantly located right in the centre of the Portes du Soleil ski area. Avoriaz is one of the only resorts that has a Beginner Pass, letting you find your feet on easy terrain via 14 lifts without the expense of a full lift pass. Beginners-only piste Première Glisse gives you the chance to improve at your own pace, while Proclou and Q'monts are easy blues for cr...
