Overview: chalet description: Chalet Kaila description

Could we find a chalet even closer to the lifts in the centre of Morzine? We weren't sure until our long-standing friend, Jean-Marc, built us a luxury chalet right next to the Super-Morzine lift (well, 57 steps away to be exact).

Chalet Kaila is our secret hideaway, balanced on a cliff, bang in the centre of Morzine and boasting an exquisite and unexpected panorama of the local summits. It comes with all the luxuries you would expect, like an outdoor hot tub, sauna and flat screens in all the rooms. Smart contemporary living, nice sized bedrooms with plenty of cupboard space (oh, so important), oversized hot water tanks and a location to tell your friends about.

We are pretty pleased with this - and we're confident there's no other luxury chalet in Morzine quite like this one.

Chalet Kaila sleeps 8 to 10 people and is ideal for a family or group thanks to it's spacious Family Suite on the Ground Floor. The suite has a double room with shared terrace and outdoor hot tub, en suite bath, hand basin and separate WC. There is also an adjoining bunk room with the beds charged at half the adult price. There is a Double room which shares the terrace with the suite and two Twin rooms on the Second floor.

Meals: Chalet Kaila food & drink

Our Executive Chef is passionate about food and hugely sensitive to the appetite of a hungry skier whilst considering a balanced diet. The new and refined menus are heavy enough to reward mountain exertion yet light and simple enough to leave you grinning not groaning.

All our catered ski holidays include;

  • Continental breakfast with a cooked option on 6 mornings
  • Afternoon tea will be left in the chalet for you to help yourself to freshly made cake or biscuits, bread & jams, selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate
  • Canapés on the first and last evening
  • 3 course evening meal (6 nights) followed by cheese board and coffee
  • A choice of red and white wine is served throughout dinner
We update Chalet Kaila's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

"A wonderful skiing holiday despite a couple of days of poor conditions."

The staff were very good and our chalet host Tom deserves particular praise for his skill as a chef and for running the household like clockwork. Everything was kept clean and tidy and his fastidious approach was much appreciated. He was always cheerful and contributed greatly to a happy mood in the chalet. The only constructive criticism I would make is that the staff could have been more proactive in making restaurant bookings and New Year arrangements, but we got there in the end

"Fantastic food and great accommodation"

We are a family of 7 and we stayed in the Chalet Kaila for a week before Christmas. We were the first people in this beautiful chalet and it really was spectacular. The bedrooms were perfectly big enough, the bathrooms were spotless and gave us all the hot water we needed. The views were magnificent and the hot tub experience is not to be missed. Our host Tom cooked us incredible 3 course meals every night, not to mention the delicious cakes. He became part of the family by the end, we would have liked to take him home with us! I also have to mention Phil, our guardian angel. He appeared whenever we needed him and has to be one of the most helpful, happiest people we have ever met. All the staff that we met must have been very carefully selected as they were such a friendly bunch. We will definitely be returning

Myself and friends have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Morzine staying at the new Chalet Kalia. I cannot recommend it enough, the chalet, food, hot tub and sauna were beyond expectation and I cannot give enough praise to our two fabulous chalet hosts Tom and Harry. We were a mixed group of first time skiers/snowboarders and adrenaline craving off piste adventurers and I can confirm there was enough skiing to suit us all in Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz. After a day out we would always return to happy and welcoming chalet staff accompanied by the anticipation of the delights awaiting us for dinner, Tom and Harry's culinary skills never disappointed. Just to say a big thank you to all involved in making our holiday memorable and we look forward to next year which we have already started to plan
