• Fantastic location in the centre of Val d’Isère. Main ski-lifts and slopes approx. 3 minutes’ walk (300m).

Overview - chalet description - Chalet Hotel Le Savoie description

Sleeps 62-87

Chalet Hotel Le Savoie is a very special addition to our Chalet Hotel collection as it's our first "Platinum" property. It's in an extremely convenient location on Val d’Isère’s central main street. From here it is just a short walk to your choice of the Solaise Express lift for the Solaise / Le Fornet side of the ski area, or the Olympique gondola if you want to ski across towards Tignes.

Sweeping stairs lead you from street level to the welcoming reception area and lounge on the first floor, opening into the attractive open-plan restaurant and bar. The smart interiors combine the warmth and traditional feel of wood, local stone and fine fabrics with stylish and sophisticated modern touches, for an elegant and comfortable atmosphere.

Down on the ground floor, the exclusive in-house ski-hire outlet provides a helpfully convenient service, whilst the extensive spa area, with its exotic blue and silver decorative motifs, inspires feelings of complete comfort and relaxation after a day on the mountain.

A good breakfast will set you up perfectly for skiing, and our afternoon tea buffet will be ready to welcome you back ‘home’ each day. Evening meals here are served at your convenience between 7.30 and 9.30pm, including Le Savoie’s slightly wider than normal choice of menu.

Your accommodation choices include Classique Rooms or slightly larger Deluxe Rooms, two-roomed Suites, and the unique Penthouse Suite occupying the entire sixth floor. Le Savoie’s clever design enables wonderfully flexible variations however, as with every individual bedroom having its own en suite facilities, most suites can also be booked as separate twin rooms, and some suites and rooms can be combined if so desired, to create self-contained ‘super-suites’ sleeping up to 12 guests.

For this reason, please note arrivals and departures here are on Sundays.

This package holiday to Chalet Hotel Le Savoie in Val d'Isere, France departs Sunday 28th January 2018, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounce it: val de saire/sare/ser) makes up half of Espace Killy which is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the attractiveness of its surroundings, the resort itself is a compilation of alpine hamlets made up of cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and eye-catching church steeple at its centre, the whole place is truly oozing alpine charm. And while dre...
In Val d'Isere you'll be skiing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski there, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of its premier status, the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009, along with the World Cup every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, beginners can...
Famed for its après ski, you're unlikely to have a dull evening in Val. The resort has 4 nightclubs including the legendary Dicks T Bar (open from 4pm - 5am). Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at Le Folie Douce, which boasts some of the best après ski in Europe. “Bananas” is another favourite, well known for its fantastic cocktails and convenient slope-side location. "Perfect"

    Mr Daly

The Savoie was about the most perfect hotel we’d stayed at when on a skiing holiday. Firstly, it had just been renovated so everything was modern and brand new. The decor was very trendy and tasteful throughout. Secondly, our room (504) was big and spacious, with a really nice balcony. Thirdly, the catering – the meals the chef created were ridiculously brilliant. All the staff were welcoming and we had no issues at all. We’ve since stayed in Val d’Isere in a chalet which is right next to the lifts, which made me realise that the only downside to the Savoie is that it’s a bit of a trek in ski boots (100-200 yards).

This property deserves it's platinum status. There's a choice of Classic rooms, Suites and you can even combine these into Super Suites for larger groups or families. All rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated (the suites are ginormous!) and the communal areas are equally lovely. It has an in house ski shop so you don't have to walk any distance to collect hire and the shops, bars and restaurants are right on your doorstep. The ski lifts take about 3 minutes to walk to, but for a property this size to be so central and luxurious and still affordable it has to have one (very small) downside! It's a very easy walk through the centre even with ski boots on. I'd thoroughly recommend Le Savoie for guests that would like something with a higher standard of service than a luxury chalet but with a more homely feel than a large 4 or 5 star hotel.
