Overview - chalet description - Chalet Hotel Hermann - Panorama Wing description

Welcome to Chalet Hotel Hermann
Chalets and Chalet Hotels in the snow-sure resort of Sölden are hard to find and we are delighted that our first Chalet Hotel in this resort has proved a great success. The Hermann is a charming and traditional hotel in which our guests enjoy the full catering services.

'Location, location, location!'
Not many chalets or hotels in Sölden can offer better access to the skiing. The Hermann has one of the most scenic locations in the resort with several access routes to the skiing. The lively atmosphere of the resort centre can be reached by a 5 minute walk to a small funicular down to the town plus we offer free evening shuttle service.

Ski Area Access
Whether you are a newcomer to winter sports or a seasoned snow hound, there is suitable access to the skiing for all.

From the Chalet Hotel intermediate skiers can walk 65m down a path, cross a lane and then ski down a small track to the red ‘Gigi’ run. At the end of the day you ski back from the No.9 red run which comes down from Gaislachkogl. Beginners’ lessons start at the Innerwald area which is a gentle 5 minutes’ walk away and we have arranged that rented skis and boots can be left overnight at the Innerwald ski hire shop. There is also a free ski bus which stops just outside and runs at the start and end of the ski day.

Comfortable Hotel Facilities
For guests seeking a traditional Austrian place to stay, the Hotel Hermann definitely ticks all the right boxes being well laid out and lovingly cared for over the years.

But the Hermann isn't just one building; it also boasts the 'Panorama' wing just adjacent where the building design and interiors are stylish and contemporary.

The owner has renovated the lounge area in the Hermann to create a more modern yet comfortable area ideal for our guests to enjoy our inclusive afternoon tea with freshly baked cakes or pre-dinner drinks with canapés. The dining room is light and spacious with traditional Austrian style seating as well as regular tables and chairs. The bar will most definitely become the focal point of the hotel, being central in the building and buzzing with a lively and welcoming atmosphere.

All the bedrooms within the Hermann have their own en suite facilities, either private shower or bath, most with retro-tiling much beloved by Austrian architects! Most also have a balcony or terrace. In the 'Panorama' wing the bedrooms all have balcony or terrace with fantastic views and are all en suite with showers and wcs that have been tastefully designed with clean classic lines and smart fittings throughout. Guests staying in the Panorama wing will enjoy their meals in the Hermann which is literally just next door and share all its facilities. The Panorama wing houses its own ski room plus an Austrian-style lounge where afternoon tea can be enjoyed.

The Wellness area in the Hermann boasts a sauna and steam room with power showers and a relaxation area – the ideal spot in which to ease aching muscles, unwind and completely relax.

A tasty and innovative, freshly cooked dinner will be prepared for you six nights per week by your Chalet Host - or by an experienced and professional chef in our larger chalets - and served with a choice of wines. Our four-course adult-only chalet dinners start with canapés and an apéritif, followed by an appetiser, main course and dessert, and completed by coffee with chocolates to round off your evening.

Your choice of complimentary quality wines is unlimited during the meal service, and freshly chilled water is also of course always available.

Culinary Choice Dinners in Chalet Hotels

A special feature of our Chalet Hotels is a more extensive culinary experience for our guests. With the greater kitchen facilities of a hotel, our professional chefs are able to offer choices of menu at dinner, generally including lighter as well as more hearty options, and always a vegetarian choice for each course. Guests will be asked to choose their evening meals at breakfast for that evening from a varied daily selection.

Our Chalet Hotel adult-only dinners offer 5 courses, starting with canapés and an apéritif, followed by an appetiser, main course and dessert, and a cheese selection to round off your meal in style. All this is then followed by coffee with chocolates to complete your evening's repast! Your choice of complimentary quality wines is unlimited during the meal service and freshly chilled water is also of course always available.

Vegetarian and Special Diets

Vegetarian options are always on our 'Culinary Choice' menu in our Chalet Hotels, and are available in our chalets if you advise us in advance. Other special diets can generally be catered for at a cost of £35 per person per week. Any dietary requirements must be advised to us at the time of booking in order for us to be fully prepared.

We update Chalet Hotel Hermann - Panorama Wing's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

No resort with the tagline ‘Think Big, Think Solden’ is likely to be dull. With lively après-ski it’s an Austrian resort that definitely packs a punch... but it’s not all about the parties – with 2 glaciers, 2 mountains and over 140km of routes there’s more than enough to explore.

Established in 1890 and having grown gradually since, Solden is a popular ski destination sitting at 1377m in the beautiful Ötztal valley. Innsbruck airport is only an hour away and Ötztal train station only 40 minutes away (which provides bus services to take you to the resort). With a river running through and traditional Tyrolean style buildings, Solden is a fairly compact town with most hotels, restaurants and clubs on the main street overlooked by the striking parish church. Three smaller villages a...
A decent variety of ski schools such as ‘Yellow Power’ make this a great place to both learn and improve. Innerwald (near the bottom of Gaislachkogl gondola) has some excellent nursery runs where learners can get to grips with the basics without having to contend with faster skiers. There’s plenty available for beginners with 67km of blue routes including some particularly good runs on the Tiefenbach glacier. Practice on the Blue 38 from the top of the Tiefenbach – it’s a roomy, simple but long 11km down...
You’ll find oodles to do in Solden – particularly if you’re after some lively après-ski. Parties begin in the clubs at the bottom of the Giggijoch mountain such as Cuckoo’s Bar and Kuckuck at around 4pm and then continue well into the night in the bars and clubs on the main street. Popular venues include the Fire & Ice bar and Bierhimmel club which party hard late into the night. If you want to keep up-to-date with sport, head over to Chris & Co.’s for a few beers and a good time. Solden is known for its...
