Meals - food and drink in Chalet Graciosa

We know that one of the most important ingredients of any winter holiday is the food. At the end of a crisp day on the mountain, there is nothing better than sitting down with a glass of wine to enjoy a delicious three course evening meal and re-live the day's adventures.

To get you started every morning we provide a hearty buffet of cereals, fresh French bread and jams, boiled eggs, porridge, fresh fruit, yogurt, juices, tea, and coffee. On six mornings there is also a cooked option, such as bacon or sausage with scrambled eggs.

On your return from the slopes every day a delicious afternoon tea is provided of freshly baked cakes, bread and jams, and tea or coffee. On six evenings you will enjoy a wonderful three course evening meal accompanied by complimentary regional table wine. On the festive last evening of the week the meal is followed by a delicious cheeseboard of local specialities and complimentary port.

The majority of our chefs have gained their skills in restaurants and hotels around the world, and are keen to share with you the results of those experiences. Even though many return year after year, all are involved in our in-depth annual training programme to ensure they are able to meet the standards our clients have come to expect.

We update Chalet Graciosa's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

This package holiday to Chalet Graciosa in La Plagne, France departs Wednesday 27th December 2017, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

In the Savoie region of the French Alps, La Plagne was established in the early sixties and now consists of 11 villages: 7 purpose built and 4 traditional. The aptly named Plagne Centre at the heart of the resort is the main hub of shops, restaurants and après ski. Just underneath lies Plagne 1800, a cluster of chalets spread across a steep hillside. Higher up are Aime-la-Plagne, Plagne-Soleil and Plagne-Villages, all accessible via chairlifts from Plagne Centre. Plagne Bellecote rests over a low ridge to th...
There are plenty of nursery slopes with access to free beginner lifts for those new to skiing. This is complimented by a wide choice of different ski schools ready to cater to your particular needs. The slopes around the Belle Plagne area are particularly suitable for beginners, with the blue run linking Les Bauches to Montchavin, providing a manageable step up in difficulty from the nursery slopes. For those who class themselves as intermediate standard skiers this really is paradise. 77% of the runs are gra...
This is an exceptional resort for unique après ski opportunities. Spend the night in the Black Sheep Igloos, facing Mont Blanc, complete with a fondue meal and a morning wakeup call with breakfast. If this isn’t your idea of fun then ice climbing in Champagny and husky sledding are also on offer. One experience not to be missed is the bobsleigh track, used for Olympic training. There are a variety of ways you can choose to go down it, but they are all guaranteed to give you a thrill as you will hurtle down at ...

Good location for skiers, not so good for non-skiers who have to slog up the piste to get back from the centre. Our room was quite small. We only had a shower and no bath. Breakfasts were very good. Evening meals were variable; some good, some average at best. The afternoon cakes were good and I liked that coffee and tea was always available. The chalet was very well run and the staff were excellent.
