Overview: chalet description: Chalet Gertrud Gabl description

We're delighted to have Chalet Gertrud Gabl (and its smaller sister, the four person Mini Gabl) and also such an illustrious resort too. The chalet itself has a pretty illustrious history as it was built by the family of Gertrud Gabl, a legendary local skier who won the Alpine World Cup in 1969!

It's a very warm and welcoming place to stay. The finish is traditionally alpine with a modern edge (as you may expect) with chunky furniture and lots of comforting soft furnishings. The log fire just adds to the overall warmth of the place.

There are eight comfortable bedrooms, all with comfy Austrian twin beds and ensuite facilities, but if that's not quite enough room, you can also book the four person Chalet Mini Gabl next door. Being in the quiet Stadl area of the resort, away from St Anton's lively centre not only provides a restful night's sleep, but also some far-reaching views over Rendl mountain from every room.

It's a ten to fifteen minute walk down the hill to the nearest lift and resort centre, or you can take the ski bus which runs regularly from a stop about a one-minute walk away. To make life easier, if you hire equipment through us, you can leave it at the rental shop which is close to the Galzigbahn lift. For kit not hired through us, you can still use the lockers, but there will be a small charge.

Don’t forget that you get free guiding and coaching throughout the week from fully qualified ski and board instructors with our Mountain Expert service.

Designed for confident blue and red-run skiers and snowboarders, they'll show you around the mountain on free guiding sessions, and even offer free coaching sessions to help you become a more confident skier or snowboarder.

There are at least three sessions a week and we guarantee each guest at least two sessions a week. Your hosts will explain how it works when you get there.

Room Types: Chalet Gertrud Gabl bedrooms

Meals: Chalet Gertrud Gabl food & drink

Our chalet board basis is designed for skiers and boarders. Start every morning with an extensive continental breakfast, and cooked options on most days. Your daily afternoon tea of freshly baked cakes and biscuits will be waiting for you when you come in from the slopes.

Evening meals are a three-course set-menu with regionally inspired dishes and free-flowing wine throughout the week, all followed by fresh coffee. We provide evening meals on six nights a week leaving you free to head out and explore the resort on one evening.

We update Chalet Gertrud Gabl's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

Brimming with traditional Austrian charm but with all the conveniences of a modern resort, St Anton's vast, high altitude ski area and vibrant atmosphere make it truly world class. It's one of the major international destinations that everyone must visit at least once (and is likely to return to frequently thereafter). Two minutes from the train station and less than an hour's drive from Innsbruck airport, it's a conveniently accessible resort. The main village is traffic free and stretches for about 1km - dot...
It's often said that if you learn to ski or snowboard here, you're likely to find any other resort an utter breeze... Just don't do a Bridget Jones (her memorable descent in 'Edge of Reason' took place on one of the more challenging Arlberg runs) and make sure to take advantage of the excellent tuition on offer. Thanks to local legend Hannes Schneider, St Anton opened the first ski school in 1921. The Skischule Arlberg continues to provide excellent tuition today, so beginners are in good hands. There's a nurs...
The après ski here is absolutely legendary: the atmosphere is constantly buzzing and with a night bus running until 3am, you can really make the most of your evening. You'll find about 20 bars offering a variety of scenes, but to experience après ski at its best you can't leave until you've joined the masses and danced on the tables at world-famous Mooserwirt or The Crazy Kangaroo (Krazy Kanguruh). While it's reputation is lively (and the resort lives up to it) there are lots of options if you prefer a more so...
