In particular, I would like to say how impressed I was with my chalet hosts. Their enthusiasm, cooking skills and willingness to 'go the extra mile' for their guests was much appreciated. The transfer was seamless in both directions and the location of the chalet is excellent. + more

Location: where is Chalet Flora

The chalets are are located literally right on the doorstep of the Bruyéres gondola lift - the picture at the foot of the page was taken from our back door and you can't get much closer than this! The gondola lift takes you straight up to the peak above the Meribel valley (Mont de la Chambre at 2850m) from where you can ski down into Val Thorens, Meribel or Les Menuires.

Overview: chalet description: Chalet Flora description

Chalet Flora is one of the five catered chalets located in the "Chalets de Bruyeres" development in Les Menuires - the chalet is independent and can be booked on it's own as a full chalet or by the room but it can also be booked with one of the other chalets to provide a great location for groups of up to 75 people. The chalet has two identical sisters - Chalet Estelle and Chalet Gabrielle. The other two chalets are different in layout - Chalet Delfina and Chalet Hayley.

Each suite consists of a double room and a separate cabine room for children - one cabine is very small and has two single beds end to end (the double bedroom is larger in this suite) and the other has two single beds at right angles (the double room is smaller). These suites are priced lower for both adults and children to reflect their size. All rooms are en-suite and are equipped with showers, washbasin and WC. The comfortable living room has a space to sit and relax around the cosy fireplace or a dining area which is an ideal place for board games outside of meal times. The mini-bar offers a selection of wines, beers and soft-drinks which you can enjoy on the sun terrace in the afternoons or soak away the aches and pains of a hard days skiing in the hot-tub while taking in the great view across the Val Thorens. For those who need to keep in touch with the outside world, a free WIFI internet connection is provided in the chalet. In the hallway at the back of the chalets there is a ski room for each chalet with heated electric boot warmers - from this corridor you take the security coded lift which takes you up and drops you on the piste at the foot of the gondola lift - access to the pistes really couldn't be easier.

Together with Saint Martin De Belleville and Val Thorens, Les Menuires (say it Lay-Men-Weer) is part of the Vallée des Belleville and is the cheapest base for skiing in the 3 Valleys. This purpose-built resort is more focussed on the practical than the aesthetic. Le Menuires is split into five villages - Preyerand, La Croisette, Les Fontanettes, Reberty and Les Bruyères, all linked by walking paths, ski runs, shuttle buses and lifts. Les Bruyères or Reberty have the sloping roofs and wood-cladding the Al...
The resort has aimed to provide a wide variety for all abilities – and the proof is in the pudding! The opportunities are outstanding for skiers and snowboarders, but you would expect no less considering it is a part of the world's largest ski area. Novices will find five free lifts either end of the resort for getting to grips on gentle little green runs and longer greens such as La Violette at the top of the gondola from La Croisette. With a healthy mix of reds and blue runs covering the vast majori...
End a day of skiing on the large sun terrace in L'Oisans and sit down in the sunshine with a jug of beer. Kick back with a cocktail or shoot some pool in the cosy Piano Bar Le Kube. Sports games can be watched on the TVs at Café Snack. If you ski over to Val Thorens be sure to go for some drinks at the famous Folie Douce. Those looking for some late-night action have 2 night clubs to choose between; Le New Pop in La Croisette or Le Liberty in Les Bruyères - an intimate underground bar with seats fashioned like...

"A perfect holiday"

We enjoyed the exceptional nice care of the chalet hosts, who were really working hard to make everybody feel comfortable and did a great job not only with Christmas dinner. Also we like to let you know that the chalet was very nice and cosy and quite practical on the other hand, so we think we made a good choice to stay there. Even the small room was no problem and the girls loved their tiny cabin. The other guests were good company and we had a lot of fun all together and even the teenagers got along very well. So - one week flies and we are back to work now but I wanted to thank you for a perfect holiday.
