Located at 1800m, Just 1hr15m transfer from Geneva and nestled in the Hameau de Flaine, high above the resort centre and offering superb views to the Grand Massif mountain range, Chalet Flaine is a comfortably furnished and homely property offering exceptional value for money and perfect for a short ski break with a wonderful snow sure ski area of over 250km at your disposal.
This spacious and welcoming chalet is in a hamlet of similarly-styled properties which wouldn't look out of place in New England or Scandinavia, with its white wooden-clad exterior and spacious decked balcony. There's a lovely open-plan living and dining area on the ground floor with pine clad walls, tiled floors with rugs and exposed beams. Relax on the comfy sofas and cushions while the wood burner roars, while there's a television with DVD player for evening entertainment. This room opens to a balcony with table and chairs, often bathed in the morning sun (and snow!). Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the chalet and there's a separate WC on the ground floor.
Sleeping 10 adults, there are five bedrooms. Two are found on the first floor beneath sloping eaves while the three remaining are situated on the lower ground floor.
Your ski chalet host will be on hand throughout your stay, preparing a daily breakfast (continental plus hot option), afternoon snack and cake with tea and coffee, plus a hearty home-made 3-course evening meal. Red and white wine is served throughout your meal. The chalet host has a day off on Wednesday, so a continental breakfast will be left out but no afternoon cake or dinner is provided.
In the Hameau de Flaine itself, there's a ski hire shop, small supermarket plus a bar and restaurant. The resort of Flaine is approximately 2km away and can be reached by ski bus in 5-10 minutes or intermediate skiers can take a ski track down through the trees, snow permitting. Ski lockers are available at the bus stop. In the evenings and running until 11:30pm, a free English-speaking taxi service operates (pre-booking required), so you can get to and from the centre easily.

This package holiday to Chalet Flaine in Flaine, France departs Thursday 21st December 2017, for a 3 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

Part of the Grand Massif and fondly known as the “big snowy bowl”, Flaine was purposely plonked on the mountain for direct access to some of the greatest terrain around. While the village may not be brimming with Gallic charm, the skiing and facilities more than make up for it, a place much loved by powder hounds and families alike.

Flaine’s known as a “fly in, ski in/ski out” resort, and the ease of skiing that families and keen skiers rave about here’s no accident – legendary architect Marcel Lajos Breuer designed it to be as ski friendly as possible and he did a jolly good job. A ski lift or piste is never far away and the town itself is completely traffic free, with cars only allowed to enter to drop off and pick up luggage. Whilst it won’t be winning the gong for chocolate box charm, Breuer’s work has seen Flaine classed as ‘...
With its high altitudes producing wonderful ski conditions throughout the season, Flaine is famed for offering an all-round ski area with plenty of slopes for all abilities - the perfect place for some quality skiing or snowboarding. This is a popular place to learn to ski or snowboard and even has free beginners lifts for those who are finding their feet. The schools all have English speaking instructors who can guide you through the basics and have you gliding down the slopes in no time. Once you’re comfor...
The excellent skiing in the resort is matched by fun après ski and there’s something to suit everyone - from a family night out to an all-night party thanks to a range of places to eat, drink and dance. If you’re staying in Flaine Forum you’ll enjoy all the restaurants and bars right on your doorstep. The après is a short bus ride from Flaine Foret which is considered the slightly more residential part of Flaine. You can get a ski lift or shuttle bus into the town for après so you won’t be missing out. ...
