Overview: chalet description: Chalet Epicea description

If you're looking for a central-1650 location, then look no further. The Epicea is definitely all about location, location location... This wonderful apartment is set on the top floor (of 3) of a centrally located residence in the main hub of the village, opposite the well-known and popular Hotel Portetta. The French owner has decorated the apartment in a traditional Savoyarde style but has also managed to combine this with a comfortable contemporary feel. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, one benefiting from a Jacuzzi bath and the other from a powerful steam shower.

The lovely large sitting room as plenty of sofa seating for all and there is a wrap around balcony giving views through the village and across to the main slope leading into 1650. The village is literally on your doorstep and with just a cross of the side-street and a few steps, you are at the bubble whisking you into the 1650 ski area, known best for the phenomenal conditions it provides on fresh white powder days. This then leads you into the huge 3 Valley circuit where you can make the most of what Courchevel, Meribel, Val Thorens, La Tania and Les Menuires all have to offer. The Epicea is run by one of our hand-selected chalet hosts who lives out nearby.

Did You Know: An Epicea is a native fir tree which can live for over 300 years in the mountains. Thousands of them form the dramatic and stunning steep sides of the famous Les Avals Valley, seen from most parts of Courchevel 1650.

Meals: Chalet Epicea food & drink

We offer our properties on a flexible catering basis therefore providing our guests with as much choice as possible when choosing a fully-catered, part-catered or self-catered chalet or apartment. Your preferences will be discussed at the time of booking and a tailor-made itinerary will be costed based on your requirements.

Our chalet hosts all enjoy cooking and take pride in what they serve and whilst they are not necessarily qualified chefs, they have good experience of dinner party cooking and many of them will have attended one of the well-regarded cookery schools with whom we work closely to ensure the highest calibre of staff possible.

If choosing the fully catered or part catered option, you will be assured of good home-cooked food prepared and served by our specially selected chalet hosts. We do not offer luxury items or haute cuisine, we serve good wholesome hearty food fit for anyone after a hard day on the slopes. Menus will be varied and may include local dishes as well as the more traditional UK favourites such as roasts, lasagne or casseroles.

Our menus have been formed over many years taking into account previous guests’ likes and recommendations and whilst we believe this plan to offer excellent variety, there will be the odd occasion when a dish might not be well-received. We would ask you therefore that if you have any specific dietary requirements or a yearning for dishes in particular, you enquire before booking your holiday and provide us with as much notice as possible regarding specific diets such as vegetarian, vegan, celiac or non-dairy etc.

We update Chalet Epicea's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.
