Fantastic stay at Chalet Ecureuil! The hosts were warm, friendly and accommodating and the food they produced was lovely. The chalet was in an excellent location with brilliant facilities...especially the hot tub! But most importantly....O'Sullivans was only across the road! Would highly recommend... + more

Lovely chalet, really nicely decorated, very cosy and never any shortage of hot water. Food was fabulous and the hosts excellent, they really looked after us and the chalet. Very comfortable beds too but could have done with some hooks for hanging ski stuff as not a lot of space or storage. Location was fine wi... + more

Meribel Chalets centre

Meribel is a large and scattered resort, don't be confused, there are many smaller villages such as Raffort, Chandon and Les Allues, upto 6kms away, from the centre. This chalet is located in the centre, however the centre does not mean that the shops, bars and main lift area are all on your doorstep. All our chalets are located all round the resort centre, and only a ten minute or less walk to the shops and bars.

The main lift area is slightly beyond this and although you could walk, there is no need as we operate a minibus service. The chalet is three floors over a ground floor, which at the front is a small fromagerie, selling the best of local cheeses. Set back slightly from the road, the chalet is real town centre. If you are looking for something that is a short walk from everything then this is the chalet for you.

Our minibus service means that one of our drivers will take you from outside your chalet down to the main lift area and ski schools in the morning, its approximately a four minute ride, at the end of the day you can text your driver for a collection home, even from the Rond Point. It is less than a five minute walk to the shops and bars of an evening.

Chalet Ecureuil is in Meribel town centre. This chalet is very popular due to it's location and modern new style. As you enter the chalet spotlights on the stairs light the way, and you immediately feel a sense of style.

The chalet is three floors spread over the ground floor. On the first floor is a twin and a double bedroom both with stylish with en-suite bathrooms. The next level has a sauna and steam room and a further two stylish en-suite twin bedrooms, go a little further up on this floor and you enter the modern open plan living space.

The sun shines through the large windows and balcony doors and as you go onto the terrace, you feel a sense of resort life, there are spectacular views and a real buzz, you can sit in the outdoor hot-tub and watch the world pass as the stars come out. The open plan living is smart and a log burner warms this, where you can simply relax.

3 Valleys ski area Excellent ski schools Lively après ski

Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.

Meribel's location is tricky to beat, slap bang in the centre of the mammoth Three Valleys ski area. British made, and largely Brit run, it's a destination we flock to year after year for a homely atmosphere in a good looking resort with more than enough pistes for a week (or three). It's made up of a huddle of gorgeous hamlets, built in traditional wood and stone and surrounded by thick woodland. The main area is Meribel Centre (usually known just as Meribel). A traditional alpine village with choc-box chale...
Meribel is one of the best ski resorts to learn in. There are three beginner areas known as 'Ski Facile' (easy ski) plus great green pistes to practise on including Le Foret and Altiport. Both runs are carefully planned out so you can practice at your own pace in quiet surroundings. If you're skiing with children, there are fantastic ski schools and child-orientated areas, including animal sculptures scattered around the trees at the 'Pistes des Animaux' where children can learn about local wildlife as they e...
Whether your day on the hill leaves you wanting to relax with a vin chaud, have a pint and play pool, or party the night away, your time off the slopes can be as varied as the day spent cruising the incredible Trois Vallees. It's said that you haven't experienced après ski here (or anywhere for that matter) until you've sampled toffee vodka in Le Rond Point, which is easily one of the most famous après ski bars in the world - complete with a slide down to the toilets! Meribel's rightly famous for its nightl...

"New year success"

5/ out of 5
We were a party of 10 of mixed age groups and stayed the week of New Year 2014. Our hosts Matt and Sophie from the moment we arrived could not have been more welcoming or accommodating and were wholly professional (with a light touch) throughout our stay. The chalet was impeccably clean and we had delicious and varied food of a high standard. The hot tub was a great hit (if over complicated) and the chalet is compact but had all we needed. We suggest more hooks on the backs of doors and more hangers in the wardrobes. The door to door service is a great selling point. All the drivers were similarly charming, upbeat and eager to help in any way.

Lovely chalet, really nicely decorated, very cosy and never any shortage of hot water. Food was fabulous and the hosts excellent, they really looked after us and the chalet. Very comfortable beds too but could have done with some hooks for hanging ski stuff as not a lot of space or storage. Location was fine with the transfers or ski bus but the late night bar across the road not so good, otherwise would have been 5*.

"A wonderful week skiing with friends in Meribel"

We enjoyed a week of good company, good snow and good weather at Chalet Ecureuil. Dave and Sarah were attentive, welcoming and friendly hosts who provided good food (including adapting the menu to suit my wife's dietary requirements), good wine and a spotless chalet for us to enjoy. However, we think that the lounge/dining area was a little cramped for 10 adults and the bedroom sizes were modest, although this didn't spoil our stay in the chalet.
