We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Courchevel. The snow was brilliant and the chalet itself was lovely. The room sizes were a bit small but the en-suite was absolutely fine. Chalet hosts were fantastic and we enjoyed the food. The only downside was the location as it was a bit of a trek getting to the slopes. If... + more

In the pretty little area of Courchevel 1650, also known as Moriond/1650, you have your own space and privacy from this nest of tranquillity. For the quieter lifts and lively social scene, make the 400m walk to the escalator which will take you directly into Moriond. If you fancy something a little quieter, the... + more

Location: where is Chalet Ecureuil de Neige

Courchevel Moriond . Chalet Ecureuil de Neige is in a tranquil location at the entrance to Courchevel Moriond (formerly Courchevel 1650). The ski bus to Courchevel Village (formerly 1550), which runs approximately every 20 minutes stops just across the road from the chalet. The chalet is also only 400m (approx.) from the new escalator which takes you straight to the centre and the lifts. From here skiers can enjoy the traditionally less crowded slopes of Courchevel Moriond, which also have a reputation for being sunny yet holding the snow superbly. From Courchevel Village, the telecabine takes skiers directly to the Croisette in Courchevel (formerly 1850). The ski school in Village is also the largest in the Courchevel area. The bars and restaurants of the lovely ‘real’ resort of Courchevel Moriond are only 500 metres (approx.) from our chalets.

Fantastic access to ski hire - 8 minutes walk (approx.) to rental shop

Divided into five villages - each known by its altitude - the Courchevel area provides a series of settings to suit different tastes, group make-ups and budgets. For pure, champagne-popping indulgence, Courchevel 1850 oozes exclusivity and no-limits luxury. It's the largest and highest of the villages and boasts a private airport, twelve Michelin stars between its restaurants, two palace hotels, and many designer boutiques. It's a seriously swanky stomping ground for the fashionable, famous and affluent. ...
Ideal for those at the genesis of their skiing career, 60% of slopes here are beginner-friendly. There's a 'Stop Zone' where learners can safely conquer the basics before hitting the slopes, and 4 beginner areas (called Zen Zones) where you can gently progress – find two in the main area and one each in Moriond and Le Praz. As part of the effort to make the resort child friendly, the Indiens piste focuses on fun for kids. Activities here include face painting, a treasure trail and many other activities around a...
Après ski in 1850 is the height of sophistication. Enjoy a cosy fireside cocktail in La Mangeoire piano bar or La Suite Bar & Louge; sample fine wine and champagne in Le P'tit Drink or go clubbing in Les Caves de Courchevel. Down in 1650, you can fully appreciate the stunning surroundings at The Signal bar. "Really good for our family"

Really good! Thought it was as advertised, there was enough space for all of us and the living and kitchen area was really good. It has a great balcony with great views. The chalet host was a great cook who produced really good meals – everyone was happy, adults and kids alike. I’ve been on ski holidays before and you’re never going to get big rooms, but these ones were good enough. The location was really easy for getting around. I’d say to those with very young kids that it’s worth hiring a locker by the slopes to make getting around easier. The walk would be fine for adults though. The childcare recommended worked really well (nannies in 1550) and gave us a lot of flexibility. Overall it worked well for us as a family!

"Lovely chalet, bit of a trek to the slopes"

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Courchevel. The snow was brilliant and the chalet itself was lovely. The room sizes were a bit small but the en-suite was absolutely fine. Chalet hosts were fantastic and we enjoyed the food. The only downside was the location as it was a bit of a trek getting to the slopes. If you know the resort you know they’ve got escalators that you use to get up from 1650 and every day at least one of the escalators wasn’t working. Another point we weren’t happy about was the transfer coming in, we spent the thick end of 2 hours waiting at Moutiers and then they sent the coach without the rep so the driver didn’t know where he was meant to be going in resort. The transfer back was fine, they just need to make sure they always have a rep on the coach.

"Stylish ski digs & love Moriond 1650"

For the quieter lifts and lively social scene, make the 400m walk to the escalator which will take you directly into Moriond. If you fancy something a little quieter, the bus running directly to The Village/1550 stop just a little down the road from the chalet. As an alternative, we had recommended the relaxing comfort of an open fire with a glass of wine - a sublime setting.
