Location: where is Chalet Dolomites

The chalet is located right in the village centre of Montchavin so everything is within easy walking distance - the quaint, traditional village has all the facilities you could need including a number of bars and restaurants, shops and activities. The ski school is located in front of the chalet - and just above the chalet is the recently built "Espace Paradiso" leisure centre with it's aquatic and wellbeing centre including swimming pool, hammam, sauna, massage, spa and fitness services.

In the French Alps' Savoie region, La Plagne was established in the early sixties and now consists of 11 villages: 7 purpose built villages and 4 traditional villages. The aptly named Plagne Centre at the heart of the resort is the main hub of shops, restaurants and après ski. Just underneath lies Plagne 1800, a cluster of chalets spread across a steep hillside. Higher up are Aime-la-Plagne, Plagne-Soleil and Plagne-Villages, all accessible via chairlifts from Plagne Centre. Plagne Bellecote rests over a l...
There are plenty of nursery slopes with access to free beginner lifts and a wide choice of different ski schools for those new to skiing. The slopes around the Belle Plagne area are particularly suitable for beginners. The blue run linking Les Bauches to Montchavin provides a manageable step up in difficulty from the nursery slopes. For those who class themselves as intermediate skiers, La Plagne is paradise. 77% of the runs are graded either blue or red. Particular favourites are the run from La Grand Roch...
It might not rival Val d'sere or Verbier for their wild party scenes, but this is an exceptional resort for unique après ski opportunities. Try snowmobiling at night, ice climbing in Champagny, husky sledding, paragliding, extreme tobogganing and more! One experience not to be missed is the bobsleigh track, used for Olympic training. There are various ways you can choose to go down it, but they are all guaranteed to give you a thrill as you will hurtle down at speeds ranging from 80 km/hr up to a lightening 120...

"Christmas 2014 - we had a great time!"

John and Vicki
4/ out of 5
This was our first time in a catered chalet, having previously stayed in hotels and self catering apartments and we did not know what to expect. It was ideally located within Montchavin within a short walk to car parking, ski shop, local shops and the ski lifts. We had no idea who we would be sharing the accommodation with until we arrived, (the only real uncertainty of the holiday) but the second family were great and were excellent company during the holiday. Worth a particular mention are your staff in the chalet - from our arrival to our departure, they could not have been more helpful. They admitted it was their first season in the role, but it was testament to their training and their personalities, that they made it all look effortless. We all felt totally welcome and that the chalet was to be our home from home for Christmas. The food was consistently excellent and the chalet was run to the highest of standards. The nightly log fire and the outside hot tub were regular treats. No problem was too small and any requests were dealt with promptly and efficiently. We are now converted to the catered chalet option for our ski holiday
