This package holiday to Chalet Club Aspen in Val d'Isere, France departs Sunday 9th December 2018, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounce it: val de saire/sare/ser) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dreamily tr...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...

"Well looked after by James!!"

Had a great week in Club Aspen, very well looked after. Chalet itself in a very good location, great to be able to walk to the shops and ski hire etc. Just a couple of things to mention – food was ok but felt as though the menu was a little over complicated – maybe a few heartier homemade style dishes to add but in general it was very tasty and the risotto was amazing! A special mention to James, he looked after us extremely well and his service was amazing, made our holiday brilliant!!

"Great location, Fantastic staff!"

Lovely location with only a short walk to the Olympic and Solaise bubble. The chalet is nicely departed and has plenty of space to spread out and be alone or sociable as required. The staff however are outstanding, very attentive and always happy to help. They integrated themselves into our group very well, whether with the experienced guests or the younger, they were always easy to talk to and friendly. James, Emily and Olivia were fantastic hosts. Neil and Liam’s food was consistently very good. The chalet was also exceptionally quiet, there was no disturbance from Dick’s Tea Bar at the back or the main street to the front. The only downside was the heat of the room, it was impossible to sleep and the dry air made me congested, the only option was to open the window all night which is very far from ideal.

"A wicked week"

Exceptional service all week, food was very good and they catered to my dietary requirements very well, please don’t be nervous if you have allergies as they take it seriously and manage to create absolutely delicious meals regardless of the requirement. Only one thing, please have a fridge that guests can help themselves to (sorry for pinching your salmon Niall and Liam…). Hosts wise, James, Emily and Liv were fantastic. I was surprised at how friendly, warm yet professional they all were at ALL times, it really makes a difference. Also, they all at some point went the extra mile, for example I casually in conversation mentioned to Emily that I fancied some Nutella on toast, ten minutes later she kindly appeared at my room door with it on a plate. Things like that where clearly extra effort has been put in goes a long way. Also thank you to all hosts and chefs for providing me with a cooked breakfast most mornings two hours after breakfast finished! My favourite factor of the experience is by far having such fun, kind, chatty and interesting hosts and chefs. It really does make the whole chalet experience so much more enjoyable. Concierge were fantastic too, Grace in particular is super lovely and helpful. Also, the social integration of guests is done really well which adds a lot to the experience too. In terms of the actual chalet, the decor etc is amazing however please please please look into the heating, at night it is often unbearably hot and I have struggled to sleep a lot of the week and I know many of the other guests have too. Thank you again, we will be coming back.. my best skiing holiday yet!!!
